I wanted to like this cake shop as other reviews posted that cupcakes were amazing and they offer a gluten-free version. Walking in, the beautifully decorated cakes line the store window and bakery display case. It’s obvious there are talented people who work and decorate cakes here. Staff was cordial but not overly friendly.However, the cupcake I purchased as a taste test was awful. The frosting was slippery, greasy, shortening-type frosting that slicks the roof of your mouth like a cheap store-bought grocery store cake. I couldn’t get past that feel to adequately judge the cupcake; however not much flavor in the cake. For over $7 for a gluten-free cupcake, I expect way better.If presentation is all that’s important to you, then this place may be for you, But you’d be better off buying a cake from Costco. I’m unsure how this place has so many high reviews; unless it’s because no one wants to pay $18 for a Piece of cake from the cake bake shop.

My fiancé and I had seen almost 5 stars on reviews, Beautiful pictures of cakes and a Neat website and decided to go with Classic Cakes for a tasting since we have an upcoming wedding. We drove an hour, extremely excited just to be disappointed with service. I’ve been putting off writing a review as this is my first. But, it was a major let down. With high reviews it could’ve just been a bad day for the ladies but walking in a group of workers sitting in chairs did not greet us, only to be Stared at and we felt judged. The woman who handed us our to-go tasting was better , she explained our to go tasting bag but that’s pretty much it. extremely unwelcoming and rushed when no customers besides us were present during that time. As taste goes, We loved Sweet Cream ( our favorite) as it’s not overly sweet. Great option for those seeking something of different taste but Minimal at the same time. Weren’t too impressed with the other fillings as they didn’t have the one we were looking into most that day or the ones we did receive, didn’t stand out from other cake shops for how glam the website and photos are but Overall the cake flavors itself are good and cake was soft which is a must! Almond Pound & Berry rose were our favorites. Definitely not the owners fault for our experience, as she wasn’t there that day. I just wish it would’ve worked out for us as we we’re excited to invest.

For my birthday, all I wanted was a two-tiered cake. My boyfriend ordered the cake, which was ready on time. However, I wish that we were warned that the cake does not include a case, and was literally placed in a cardboard box that did not even cover the whole cake. Granted, I have never seen multi-tiered cake container, but figured that there had to be something provided. I struggled to keep the cake from getting squashed by the box, which was clearly meant for a single-tier cake. The stress of transportation placed a huge damper on the experience, and I would have looked for a container had I known beforehand. The colors did not quite match the decorations placed on the cake, but I recognize as a personal preference.What saved the day was the fact that it was the BEST tasting cake I have ever tried. My family tried the cake as well, and said it was the best chocolate cake with chocolate icing they ever had (my mom usually dislikes chocolate with chocolate, but not this one).I would recommend this bakery, but would have appreciated a heads up on the transportation. Watch out for the speed bumps as you leave the parking lot. This is at no fault of the business, but is good to know.

LOVE Classic Cakes! Custom designs are gorgeous, cakes are delicious, and the attention that goes into planning new flavors really shows. I really appreciate that they refuse to take more orders than they can artfully bake/decorate each week, and that there are always ready-made options for the times when I forget to preorder or need a pick-me-up for a friend.

I contacted Megan about making a cake for my son. I told her he was musical and loved guitars and piano. She sent a sketch and a few emails later we agreed on the design. He was thrilled and I’m pretty sure had cake for breakfast the day after ? when I looked in the box there is a fork in there I’m told for easy eating ‼️???thanks guys. It is/was awesome‼️‼️‼️‼️

The orange/lemon/almond cake is amazing! Highly recommended. Hopefully they will offer ermine frosting in the future as their american buttercream is too sweet and not buttery.

The cake was beautiful and very presentable, all though I couldn't help but be dissatisfied with the taste of the cake. The consistency of the cake itself was a bit like putty. Don't get me wrong, I love moist cake, but I felt that this was not satisfactory. The icing left a waxy feeling in your mouth, which was uncomfortable at best. I'm going to be honest for a custom cake that I ordered a month in advanced I was very disappointed. Especially for how expensive the cake was, I expected more. I had no problem paying for the cake because I expected the cake to be overall better quality due to the reviews, but alas, that was not the case.

After 13 years and 20 plus cakes, I will no longer be supporting Classic Cakes. The service has gone down hill since Megan purchased and now it’s impossible to even get a reply from staff.If you are too busy to deal with customers, don’t be in a customer facing business. Communication is key and it’s greatly lacking.Update: since the owner wants to argue with customers and not share the truth - I did not get an auto reply to their online form. I did try and reach out to share my concern - via phone and a follow up email which got no reply. Only when I posted this review does Megan seem to care and then want to argue. As my review said - you can be busy, that is great - communicate you are busy. Stop making everyone feel bad for trying to give you money. If you are full, just simple tell people or hire more people to help do the work.
