I ordered a cake from here for my 30th birthday. I called and spoke to Amanda, who was fantastic and the only reason this review has any stars at all. My husband and I went to pick it up and the order was incorrect. Instead of apologizing and offering a solution, my husband had to ask for it to be remade. When I entered the store, I was asked if they could use the correct colored icing on top of the incorrect color if I wanted them to scrape it off and start over. The writing to begin with looked a little sloppy and was black instead of white. (I ordered a heart shaped cake with vanilla icing and white writing; which is pretty popular right now, so not that difficult or uncommon). What we were told and what was happening were two different things. We were told that the decorator was working to fix it. No big deal, should’ve taken 15 minutes tops, right? Wrong. After waiting for 45 minutes (on a day when you’re hosting people), we were presented with a cake that looked like my 9 year old nephew decorated. Very good for a 9 year old, but very poor for a business dedicated to it. I walked out at that point because I was very frustrated. My husband pointed out that the cake was worse than before and then the truth came out that the manager was working on it, not the decorator. I paid $30 for a cake that I could’ve made at home for $3 and had it look better. Be honest with your patrons and if you can’t do what they are asking well, tell them! I would’ve rather taken a cake that didn’t have all the elements I wanted than one that looks like a child decorated it. Also, if you’re going to make someone wait 45 minutes for an order that was made incorrectly (it was correctly written on the order form), apologize and offer a discount/to deliver.

My nephew has a lot of food allergies. This is our go to place when we want to send him a sweet treat. Lots of vegan choices. They are also very nice and helpful. I had to call because there was an issue with the delivery app. They immediately helped me and my nephew had his cupcake within the hour. I would recommend a cupcake but he loves them all.

I was relieved to find that The Flying Cupcake had single cupcakes readily available for pickup. I had a coworker birthday and wanted to bring something small but sweet, their cupcakes were perfect for that. My coworker really seemed to like it and it was a good sized and attractive cupcake. The service was great, I don't have any complaints.

For years, I was a huge fan of the Flying Cupcake. It was my go to for all birthdays and celebrations. Many times I would stop in while out running errands just to treat myself. I stopped going a couple years ago after having a bad experience with a large order of cupcakes that were not fresh. I thought I would give them another try Thursday. I bought 4 different kinds - 3 chocolate cake based and one vanilla cake. All 3 chocolate cakes were stale and tasted old. The icing was hard but still had good flavor. The vanilla "Here Comes The Bride" was a little better but still not fresh. Very disappointing - I was so badly hoping they would be back to their original great quality and taste.

Stopped in for a treat when work took me to Carmel. There was one person working the cupcake case and the register, and they were a delight!Upon entering your eyes are bombarded with cute pastel decor and tables and booths for parties. Its a lot for the eye to take in so if "cluttercore" is not your thing maybe order online for pickup. Lots of customers doing that, with a "pickup table" to the left of the cupcake case. The storefront offers many little things to buy besides food; like stuffed animals, enamel pins, breath mints, clothing with the company logo on it, and so many other things! If cute is what you aim for this establishment knocks it out of the park!They also sell custom cakes! And "pupcakes" which are, as the name suggests cupcakes for your dogs, super cute idea!The cupcakes themselves are large in size, and at almost $6 per they should be. The frosting to cake ratio is palatable. Fair warning it is a lot of cupcake for a single sitting but, they are moist and not too sweet and if you really believe in yourself, you can eat it all up! Rich is a good description for flavor. Of course the "Red Velvet Elvis" is their best seller, filled with fat chocolate chips and topped with a sweetened cream cheese frosting and a splash of nonpareils as decoration. Its unbelievably tasty. I also recommend their other flavors such as vanilla birthday cake, and a wedding cake flavor which has a hint of almond in it and is really more elevated as far as taste goes.Chocolate cakes, carrot cakes, gluten-free cakes, oh my! There really is something offered here to satisfy the sweet tooth of any palette!Kid-friendliness: This establishment goes above and beyond kid friendliness as it caters to more the dreams of kids. To be absolutely surrounded by tasty desserts and fun decorations, what a dream!

All the Flying Cupcake locations are fun and unique. This one is right near the heart of Carmel. It offers unique and fun merch in addition to, of course, delicious cupcakes.I stopped in with my sons for one of their birthdays. We all enjoyed our cupcakes and the person working the counter was friendly and helpful. The one star I've docked is for a lack of indoor seating. There were only two tables despite this being one of the largest Flying Cupcakes I've been in. I think some of the merch areas could be turned into seating for those who would like to stay and enjoy their treats. Other than that, everything here is top-notch.

This is such a sweet shop! From the delicious cakes and cupcakes to the adorable decor and merch, and the friendly faces. It being locally owned also keeps me wanting to come back for more! I highly recommend Red Velvet Elvis!

7/22/23 first time visiting. Its late in the day, prior to closing. I got a chocolate & red velvet cupcake. Ive bwen dieting and decided to treat myself ??I tore into the chocolate cup cake 1st as i had a severe sweet tooth. The icing eas tasty but the cupcake itself was hard ??. I had just walked to my vehicle when i decided to go back in and ask the young lady inside if they are normally hard or????♀️. She said she didnt know. She made a pgine call then offered me another cupcake . I politely declined. I dont want to have another one that is probably just as hard or it's more then likely from the same or from the same batch.??♀️I only came here because a co worker frequents here and always offer me one and I have always declined but i thought that they looked good. SO today I decided to get my own & try them out. I was disappointed to say the least. I ended up throwing the hard chocolate cupcake in the receptacle just outside the business door. Another 1 and done????♀️. I don't see what others see in this place. I dont like hard (potentially stale) cup cakes! In fairness I did try the red velvet cupcake and it was moist unlike the chocolate cupcake. I feel that I should have been refunded for the stale hard chocolate cupcake. I will stick to the 1 star rating based solely on customer service.
