Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya in Carmel, Indiana offers an authentic Japanese ramen experience that is worth the 20-minute drive from Fishers. The beautifully decorated restaurant welcomes you with the traditional Japanese greeting "Irasshaimase!" from the busy cooks in the kitchen. The menu is sizeable, with a large selection of mouth-watering appetizers, 12 different flavors of ramen, and 4 rice dishes. When my vegetable ramen and edamame arrived, I was amazed by the presentation and rich aroma. The fresh noodles were perfectly cooked, and the broth was deliciously tender and fatty. The salty and rich broth, made with French sea salt, kelp, and bonito, was far superior to any instant ramen I had tried before. The staff was kind and responsive, and the service was fast. I would recommend Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya to anyone looking for a genuine Japanese ramen experience.

The ramen here is wonderful! The broth is filled with flavor and the presentation is picture ready. The egg is cooked to perfection for ramen style eggs. They have a nice selection of appetizers and the food has always tasted very fresh. This is a very nice restaurant for any rainy day!

Excellent authentic ramen! Lovely atmosphere and good service. Lots of great options

Authentic ramen restaurant. It’s hard to find them in the US and this is one of them Japanese also recommend. They cook Gyoza by themselves and can cook firm noodles. I ask them like “Can you cook Harigane noodles?”. They call it firm noodles. Good to learn.

Absolutely amazing bowl of ramen. If you’re in Indianapolis and lament no good ramen in your city, be sure to check out this spot, you won’t regret it. Tastes as close as a bowl of ramen in Tokyo as it gets. Reasonable priced.

Exceptional service and food. First, my waitress was on point and friendly. She suggested I try the Hitachino White beer, her favorite, and I had never had this brand before. I found it to be flavorful with interesting tones. For the sake of discovery I also had to try the Hitachino Red, which had a unique flavor but I found myself much preferring the white. Next, as it's my absolute favorite dish from my time in Japan, I ordered the Agedashi Tofu. I was a bit worried when it came out white and hard crusted. Once it was in the broth, however, it was as I remembered. Very flavorful and my only critique is maybe it could have used a but more ground ginger. Second I ordered the Onigiri, another simple dish I enjoyed in Japan. I would have preferred the seaweed was moistened and wrapped around the rice, as it was in Japan, and feel this would help hold it together as I found it fell apart pretty easy and was a bit messy. The bonito was well flavored. I chalk these two minor discrepancies up to "artistic license" of the preparation. Otherwise I really can't complain as the food was really delicious. Last, I ordered the Pork Giyoza. The dip was less vinegary and a touch peppery, which I found interesting and tasty. My only sadness was that they didn't offer Yakitori. Overall I absolutely recommend this place for the flavors and you can tell the staff takes pride in every aspect of the restaurant. Oh, I'd never seen a mouthwash dispenser in a bathroom before and found this amusing.

Ramen was ok. Egg was cold and pork was almost all fat. Spicy miso not actually spicy. Wait staff were pretty disengaged. Way too expensive for the quality you get.

My husband and I have lived in Japan for 6 years (8 for him) and Kizuki has the most authentic flavors I have found yet stateside. Their ramen, chicken kaarage, their gyoza....it's all there. Top to bottom flavor that I have serious cravings for. I could only give four stars for atmosphere because it does become quite crowded and kind of noisy. I love Kizuki and hope they never leave!

The food was good, nothing amazing, the environment is very cool and my kids enjoyed this place. Be prepared to spend a pretty penny. Although we all liked the restaurant I don't think it was good enough to justify the price point and we will probably not go back.

We moved to another state almost 3 years ago. In the "top 5 things that would make me move back" would be Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya. I've tried 3 other ramen places since we moved, some rated very highly. NON OF THEM COMPARE! I didn't know what I had till it was gone!!The depth of the broth flavor, the quality of the ingredients, the atmosphere, the service. Nothing has compared yet!I am contemplating driving 9 hours so I can taste good...no AMAZING ramen again!Picture is from one of the last times we went.
