I'm not sure where to start. My husband, sister, and I walked in and had no idea where to go. There wasn't anyone at the hostess stand. We walked through another door where we found the bar. We then had to ask where to go to sit and eat. We were taken to the balcony. The whole purpose of this place is the "cool" factor of it being an old library. Upon asking if there was seating in the library, we were told that they only sit people in the balcony when there isn't a lot of people. If it wasn't for our very nice waitress being kind and "sneaking" us into the main part, we would have left at that point. Now for the food. To sum it up...GFS food sold overpriced For appetizers we ordered breaded mushrooms and pretzel breadsticks. The mushrooms looked and tasted as if they came straight from a freezer bag and popped into a microwave. The pretzel breadsticks...well it doesn't take much to heat up frozen bread. My husband got the Hoosier Pork aka tenderloin sandwich. It was dry, smelt disgusting, and was not a Hoosier tenderloin. I got the BBQ pork. Please do not be misguided by the description like I was. It was literal mush and tasted like manwich. My sister is 13 and a picky eater. She chose the three cheese grilled cheese. Out of everything we ordered...the grilled cheese was the only semi tasting item.

Ate at Woody's yesterday. I ordered the Pot Pie. If was terrible. I paid $18.00 and was so disappointed. There were chunks of chicken but the vegetables were non existent, the sauce was spicy and just plain unappetizing. It had a piece of flaky crust on the top and that was fine. I was disappointed that the waitress (Heather) didn't ask me if something was wrong in light of the fact that I left the whole thing other than the flaky crust. She did ask me if I wanted a take out box which I obviously didn't. Very disappointed. To be fair, the 3 others at our table thought their meals were ok.

It was love at first sight with Woody's. We brought my mom this time about a month later and the upstairs was closed so we sat in the patio which was enclosed, hot, and stuffy. Service was not friendly at all today and very slow, but the food is so good so I'll be back again. But today's experience was a 3-star occurrence.

Great service. Amazing staff. Incredible food. Accommodate a large group last minute. Everything about this place is worth the visit. If I lived close by, I'd be here all the time. There's the bar, the patio, and the main restaurant. Amazing! Def give it a try.

We went to The Library for my Birthday and had a great time! We enjoyed cheese curds as an appetizer which were wonderful! They were very fresh and the perfect combo of crunchy on the outside and gooey on the inside! I ordered the bison meatloaf with mashed potatoes and bacon green beans. It was delicious!! Two of my friends ordered the pot roast which I tasted and swear to order next time! I also tasted the blue cheese coleslaw and was amazed. I’m not sure if they make the blue cheese in house, but it’s phenomenal. For dessert we tried the peach crumble (my favorite) crème brûlée (beautifully finished) the cupcake (delish) and the brownie (perfect combo of sweet and salty!)The atmosphere is eclectic and has a cool vibe, the staff is very Friendly and the service was impeccable! We went downstairs to Woodys after dinner for a drink. It’s a great local bar with friendly bartenders and fun people!I highly recommend The Library and Woodys!!!

I’m sorry, but what? My salmon Caesar lunch entree came with dried cranberries on it (like, a LOT of them), and the Caesar dressing on the side. Strange choices by the chef. I didn’t read that part on the menu because I didn’t think I’d need to read through a description of a Caesar salad. The rustic bread is store bought bread burnt to hell on the grill served with rock hard butter. The fish tacos had… pineapple on them. Both iced teas tasted very strange. The server was just ok. Mac and cheese and mashed potato sides were solid. However, we won’t be stopping back to see what other kinds of fruit they can sneak into otherwise standard meal options.

Absolutely love going to Woodys with my kids, sitting with Grace and enjoying the food. Grace is always attentive to what we need, very personable and always a has great suggestions. Love going there to play shuffleboard (although they just got rid of the shuffleboard) and hanging out with my friends.

Love coming here Wednesday nights after Carmel Gazebo concerts! The waitress Grace was our favorite every Wednesday, always attentive and anticipated our needs. Great service!

I love that this is actually in an old, retired library! There are two levels to this establishment. The bottom level is a big, open-room bar atmosphere dedicated to the Colts. High top tables and very much a community feel. The upper level is quieter and a more intimate dining area. The decor and dividers in the dining area are old library shelves with books. We came in on the side entrance and you have to choose to go down stairs to the bar area or up stairs to the dining area. I’m not sure if the old main library entrance on the front of the building is open and whether stairs can be avoided there. If someone needs assistance or can’t do stairs this might not be the restaurant for them. I would suggest calling.Very attentive service, yet I didn’t feel as though we were being pushed out quickly and actually sat chatting after the meal for awhile. But we arrived at one and by the time we were done eating there were plenty of empty tables. A very relaxing lunch for sure.I had a steak and my husband had the special, a “Cheeseburger” soup and shared my sides. He was delighted with the soup. Definitely made in house and not an open the tin situation. Our friends enjoyed the sliders and a grilled salmon on a bed of salad. Because of some of the ingredients in the salmon dish and his food allergies, changes had to be made and those were accommodated graciously.Parking: We went on a busy, holiday Saturday, and had to park a couple of blocks away on the street. There is a public lot across the street with free parking, but it is small and was already filled up.

The experience you get when going to Woody's is comforting. You are greeted by cheerful servers. The aesthetics of being a former library are calming. The food has a great taste, but is familiar to those that aren't adventurous with their choice in dishes. For those making their first visit to Carmel, Woody's would be my recommendation.
