Wanting to try for a good while & finally did for birthday breakfast.Chicken fried steak w/sausage gravy is literally the best restaurant item I have had in yrs! Blown away all around between cozy/family atmosphere, fantastic down home cooking & very reasonable pricing for large portions of food.My new favorite EAT OUT destination, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!Kid-friendliness: Kid menu for 12 & under

The waitress was very rude. It was my first time in and I won't be back. Even the regular customers made a comment to her that she was extra moody that day. Food was ehh ok. I would rather put my finger in a mousetrap than to be treated the way I was that morning.

We went in for breakfast and we're about to sit in a friendly enjoyment with a wonderful server.

Best grilled ham and cheese sandwich I’ve ever had. Husband got the pulled pork ham and cheese and said it was good but not even close to as good as mine. Seasoned breakfast potatoes were good. Son had pancakes and they were good. Place is quaint. Service was good and friendly. Coconut cream pie left much to desire. Definitely will be back.

You MUST eat there.... it's like Homemade Heaven! I wish my mom could have made such tasty dishes. All I could do was make "yummy sounds" and wish I could ask for seconds! ?

Always have a server with a smile and never been disappointed in the quality of the food. Great place for a quiet breakfast.

It was really busy in here this morning but we got a booth right away. Our waitress got our drink order right away and took our food order when she brought back our drinks. My husband and I both got the "Happy Mule" breakfast, which included a ham steak, 2 eggs, potatoes, and toast. The serving was more than I could eat for breakfast and brought some of my ham steak home to go with my supper. I love it here!

It took a bit to get our food but it was really tasty. The place was super clean, especially the bathrooms, and the coffee was unusually good.

Beat place to brake down infront of. 2nd time on my Harley to break down here. Nowhere else have I ever broke down on my Harley. Plenty of room to fix anything that breaks down. I recommend if you're going to break down to do it here in the later evening!! Thanks for the use of your parking lot so I wasn't hit while fixing my bike

It's another breakfast review from me! If I am not careful, I may turn in to breakfast as my mom would say. I have been to Becky's Happy Mule Cafe before and I enjoyed it. This trip however, was far from enjoyable. You may be asking why the four stars then? It is simple actually, Becky's Happy Mule Cafe is a gem. The staff are hard working and friendly. The locals love the place as do I being the local guy that I am. It was the food that warranted less stars but I will not give them a bad rating for a one time hiccup. Becky's Happy Mule Cafe is one of the quite a few, locally owned and run diners in Anderson. It is usually busy of a morning when I drive by which is an indication of what the local folks think. I am usually among those who enjoy the food at the cafe but this time I am sorry to say it's a no from me. Please understand this is about the food and not about the restaurant and the people who work there. The staff is very hard working and is doing their best to provide eveyone with the best service they can. As has been the norm for many local businesses, Becky's Happy Mule Cafe has struggled with staffing. The morning I visited with my two teenage sons, there were only two servers taking care of all of the guests. Most tables had 6 more people sitting down, and only one or two had two people. Needless to say, the staff was swamped. There was only one cook working that morning doing his best to keep up with the onslaught. It was hard going foe the staff to sat the least. Our server was so overwhelmed that she broke down in the middle of the restaurant. I made sure she received a tip that hopefully made up for some of the stress she was going through. I am a creature of habit at many of the breakfast places I go to and Becky's Happy Mule Cafe is one of them. I ordered the sausage and cheese omelet. As the name implies, the sausage and cheese omelet is an omelet that has sausage and cheese in it. Omelets come with your choice of side and toast. I ordered mine with a side of hash browns and white toast. I also had a cup of coffee with a glass of water. Getting our order placed did take longer than usual and getting our food from the kitchen even longer but I have explained why and that is okay. The food was hot and looked great. The omelet was your basic three ingredient omelet. Not that fancy but tasted good. The hash browns were another story. I am not sure if the cafe is having supply issues but the hash browns were not the usual crispy, scrumptious pile of shredded potatoes they usually are. The tasted more of cardboard than potatoes which is why I wonder if they have been experiencing supply issues. My toast also came unbuttered which is unusual but again with only three staff working that morning, something is bound to get overlooked. I have my share of dry, white toast in the past, and I am okay with it. Sometimes you need to channel your inner Elwood Blues and go with the dry, white toast. Another thing that makes me think Becky's Happy Mule Cafe is experiencing supply issues was the coffee. I know my coffee, well, at least my bad coffee. I have had my share of bad coffee in the military and this coffee ranks among the best of the bad coffee. It was a shame because the coffee is normally pretty good. I may not have a stellar experience at Becky's Happy Mule Cafe this time but I will continue to go and spend my money there because the food is really good and it is a great place to go to eat. It is very deserving of 4 stars. So if it looks like they are short staffed and running behind, give them a break. They are doing their best and will get to you eventually. If we don't continue to support local businesses like Becky's, they will disappear like so many already have.

Eggs cooked perfectly as requested. Tea was great, coffee was light but good. The mule train was good, the tenderloin was unusual as the meat was easy to cut and chew. Nice lite flavor. Rye bread had rich flavor. The b&g was good could have little bit more spice. Waitress was super and the place was cleaner than any restaurant I've been to. Price was higher than expected

Based on the reviews i think we had unrealistically high expecations. The breaded tenderloin itself was 5 stars with a nice light crispy crunch and a decently thick and moist tenderloin. But they added a single small slice of tomato that was mosly skin, a soft wilty piece of lettuce and a bun that crumbled apart which we eventually discarded. The toppings and bun turned this excellent tenderloin into a disappointing experience. The grilled tenderloin was bland and suffered from the bun, wilty lettuce and small tom. The onon rings had a nice breading but needed a bit more time in the frier. The were also small and not that many. The french fries were soft and definitely needed another 5 minutes in the frier. The portion also was small. All in all great potential but really let down on the execution.*** breaded tenderloin*** grilled tenderloin**** onion rings** french fries☹ we asked for a sandwiches to be wrapped in foil. Instead they used petroleum-based unrecyclable styrofoam. Something biodragable would be ideal (we'd pay extra for that).

Becky is wonderful! If you visit before 0700, she’ll be your hostess, waitress and cook. The corned beef hash is out of this world!
