The food was TERRIBLE! I had eaten here several years ago and wasn’t happy with the food or service. We gave it another try last night and it was worse. I ordered a chicken sandwich and it was hard and dry I have literally had a better chicken sandwich from McDonalds. Another person in our party got a flatbread pizza and half of it was overcooked and not edible. Service was mediocre at best. I got a glass of water quite awhile after we were seated and it was never refilled and didn’t see the server to even ask. Save your money. Being on the water is the only thing they have going for them.

Becky was fantastic! I loved spending the day here with her and the staff. The patio and food was amazing. Will return again.

My husband brought me home some baked potato soup. It was so salty I couldn’t eat it & I threw it out. This seems to be a problem with soups at many restaurants. I don’t know it it’s soups that aren’t made from scratch or not.

Fruity pebble donut and Cucumber lime drink are must haves. Such a fun place. Tyler Robling band always rocks The boathouse.

I had the lobster roll, my fiancé had shrimp and grits, and our son had the pepperoni Flatbread. We were not disappointed.

Very good food. The wait staff seemed a little understaffed and overtaxed.

Loved the building and water view but not the food. The worst omelet I've ever had.

This was all of our first time there we had 6 in our party which included two kids. I was so glad to NOT see mac n cheese as a main course for kids on the menu. Everyone got something different and everyone loved their food. Also the kids meals come with a rice krispy treat that comes on a plate that looks like a painters pallette with a paintbrush, chocolate syrup, raspberry sauce and sprinkles super fun!!

Update: so since my first review have been back several times. Let me just say....FRICKLES. So good! Menu has expanded immensely and had a hard time choosing today but got the frickles of course and the loaded potato soup and WOW. Service was EXCELLENT! Boathouse is just 4 blocks from me. Way to easy to love this place. Atmosphere is very cozy and comfortable. One of my very favorite places to go. Worth the trip from wherever you are to Cicero. It's an experience, not just a "place to eat". Lake view, even have breakfast!First time! Loved the shrimp!! Will be back. Atmosphere is really nice. ??
