So - last weekend, my family and I dined out to celebrate my birthday as well as my granddaughter’s birthday. We are relatively new to Columbus and are slowly learning our way around to the best places to eat here. (Chowdown Columbus has been our restaurant guide!). I had read that Angottis was one of THE places to eat, so I made a reservation (it’s required) and we all met there at the appointed time. When we arrived, there was only one other table with patrons seated at it. It was 6:30 - a prime time to dine. I gave the woman who greeted us my name and she led us to our table.Once we were all seated, I told her, as I had told the person on the phone when I reserved our table, that we were celebrating two birthdays. Though she asked my granddaughter how old she was, there was no eagerness to please on her part. She asked us for our drink order and left us to peruse the very, very limited menu. It was a pasta dish or nothing. We all found something to order and sat back to enjoy our wines and soft drinks. The salad course was tasty with warm croutons sprinkled atop. I thought our server had said entrees were served with either a Caesar salad or a house salad, but I may have been mistaken since she spoke very softly. We all got very small, but fresh, Caesar salads. However, before we were done with our salads, our entrees arrived. I had the lobster ravioli and the others had either a fettuccine dish of some sort or spaghetti. My dinner was tasty, but not the “wow” food I was hoping for nor expecting. The others with me felt pretty “meh” about their meals. The food wasn’t much of a step up from some mid-range restaurants. Our server never asked if we wanted drink refills or if we needed anything else. When it came time for dessert, there was no offer for a special dessert “on the house” for those of us with birthdays, and the server really seemed eager to move us out the door. We declined dessert and asked for our check. While we ate, two more tables were filled with new patrons, but otherwise, the restaurant was empty. Why the need for reservations on a Saturday night if the place was practically empty? My guess is that others feel as indifferent about the food, the ambience, and the personal attention that we did. I was thoroughly disappointed and almost embarrassed that this was the place I had wanted to experience for my birthday.I really wanted Angottis to live up to its reputation and be a “go-to” place for us when guests visit. I have NO knowledge of the history of this establishment nor of its owners or its chef. But a $200 bill for dinner should have come with a desire to truly please and welcome guests. We left feeling let down and sure that we wouldn’t be back. Columbus has many other dining options that we have thoroughly enjoyed and where we felt warmly welcomed. Those are the places we will go back to.

If i could rate 10 stars i would. Snow fell down my son’s collar on the walk up to the building so he came in shivering. They moved a table close to the fireplace for him and brought him a warm hot chocolate. Our waiter Daniel made him a homemade activity sheet and they all really made us feel like family. I’ll be telling everyone about this place.

My husband and I had a last minute kid free night, so I literally called that afternoon and we were able to get a table!I got the fettuccine alfredo! The sauce was so creamy and the pasta was cooked to perfection. My husband got the chicken parmigiano. He said it had a great amount of good sized chicken, covered in yummy sauce and cheese with angel hair spaghetti! We shared an appetizer of cheese sticks with delicious dipping sauce. Then a dessert of chocolate mousse, which we fought over because it was so good! The staff was friendly. The only thing is the waitress should have noticed refills were needed. I had to ask for another sangria and my husband’s lemonade went unnoticed of needing refilled.

SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE. Went there for dinner 3 adults. Spent $95 ($91, plus a $3.95 credit card fee). Ordered the mozzarella sticks, steak and potatoes, the chicken parmesan, and alfredo.Positives- questionable but decent atmosphere- servers were decently niceNegatives- some of the wall decorations were random drawings and theres a picture of the godfather?- steak was a bad cut and was not seasoned- potatoes were not seasoned and were not served with any kind of sauce- chicken parm had half a breast of chicken- chicken parm pasta was covered in water- chicken parm pasta sauce seemed like grocery bought with added italian seasoning and garlic- alfredo was so underwhelming we had to add more parmesan from the table (which was not fresh at all)They do NOT honor military discounts.Overall: go to Johnny Carinos in Greenwood. The gas money and bill will be less for more and better food and better service

The Italian Food was truly the best I have ever eaten in the USA outside of Italy! Every time I go to a new (for me) Italian restaurant, I always order the lasagna. Why? Because one of my closest childhood friends is Italian and his grandmother was originally from a small town in Italy. She taught her daughter how to cook their family's recipes. I grew up eating home cooked authentic Italian dishes especially her Lasagna. I always compare each and every restaurant's Lasagna to his Mom's lasagna. The ONLY Italian restaurant that has ever come close and probably equal is Angotti's Italian Restaurant. The culinary Master Chef is Ingrid. She cooks everything to perfection! She uses the freshest food, meats, vegetables and pasta. She cooks EVERYTHING and does not cut any corners in order to bring out the true Italian flavors. She came out to talk to us: very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. She even brought out our meals and was there to answer any questions. That's the first time we have had the Master Chef come to our table to chat! Unbelievable! The decor, table and place settings exuded quiet elegance. We were able to converse with normal voices. The wine selection was chosen to complement the meals and to accommodate various taste preferences. All in all, we were impressed with whole experience of dining at Angotti's. We will DEFINITELY return to try all of the meals on the menu!

This was an unexpected experience. My daughter and I were just looking for somewhere to eat.We happened to walk by this restaurant, and we both stopped and were like, "we should check this out." We walked into a restaurant, but it made you feel like you were in a family friends Italian kitchen. We were in awe of the atmosphere. Then, the hospitality was top-notch. But the best is yet to come. The salad came out with the most delicious croutons we have ever had. The bread came next and was so soft and warm. The chicken parmigana was made to perfection. Then the owner let me try a canoloi and wow. This didn't end up being just a mother/daughter lunch. This ended up being an experience and a great time. I highly recommend this place. The owner made us feel like we were family and that we had known each other for years.

We went here for the first time for my birthday. Fantastic food and service. Alfredo is a favorite of mine and hers was divine. So velvety and luscious. In fact, everything we had was heavenly. I'm told she makes everything from scratch and it sure tastes like it. Such good food. And she is just the nicest person, very friendly and down to earth. Loved the decor as well, made for an interesting yet intimate atmosphere. We had an excellent time. Highly recommended!

In the area on business, I stopped in for dinner on a Friday without a reservation. After a quick consult with the owner, the sweet hostess/waitress seated me and took my order. My drinks and food were served promptly and efficiently. I highly recommend the Lobster Ravioli and the Tiramisu!

Food is ok… Not great not bad, Service however is absolutely terrible. Our server was extremely rude. We came in without a reservation because it didn’t say anything about it on their website she asked if we had one we said no sorry we didn’t realize we needed one she asked us to wait, no problem she ends up seating us and as soon as she does she’s rushing us and has an attitude. As we are finishing our appetizer she’s trying to get our plates. She then brings our salads and does the same thing. Entrees come and my boyfriend get his (spaghetti and meatballs) then she goes back to get mine(Chicken Parmesan)as she’s sitting it down her enter index finger slides under the spaghetti and chicken as it starts to slide to the edge of the plate she then proceeds to slide it back on the plate with her finger and immediately walks away. We didn’t get our bread that came with the meals until we had to flag her down and ask for it over halfway into our food as she never checked on us either. Place has potential just needs some small things worked out and new staff with better attitudes. Felt rushed and did not enjoy the experience.Update: Me and my boyfriend both got food poisoning.

I think that if you are looking for a place to eat real food, handmade, natural, and delicious, this is the perfect place... we had to go through the restaurant looking for food with all these requirements and it fulfilled it... it feels an environment as if they were your family, friendly, kind, and very respectful people... I highly recommend it
