The food and service were exceptional, and I enjoyed being able to read while I ate my lunch. Even though the restaurant was busy, I didn't feel like it was too loud or distracting.

Good place to grab a bite to eat. They have a great selection of sandwiches, salads, and soup. Friendly staff makes for a nice visit. They also have paintings from a local artist on their wall.
We stopped for lunch with our married child and loved this place. Their chili hotdog was excellent, the turkey/avocado melt was delicious, and so was the spinach salad. For a small town cafe, you get great service, atmosphere, and quality food.

Quaint eatery on main street. Had a smaller menu probably to serve best quality food. They had several different seating sections over old flooring circa 1900 probably. The food was delicious. one waitress to serve all. She was chipper and smiling the whole timeParking: First come first serve

I 74 has an exit to Crawfordsville, it's noon I check the Yelp app for a cozy cafe..easy to find, parking was accessible for our class B camper van, we likey already.. Greeted with a smile, very chic environment, simple short menu which always means good food.. I ordered 1/2 a roast beef with spinach and a garden full of mushrooms with melted Swiss.. yum.. got a side salad Hubby got 1/2 Philly steak and he told me I had done a good job choosing this restaurant. I recommend they need some fab coffee ( just a Keurig with a good selection) and some type of dessert like selections of sherbets. We thought the prices were inline with the delicious fresh hot meal we enjoyed.

The food is great for lunch, sandwiches, soups, etc. They serve freshly made ice tea and prepare the food once it is ordered. The art on the walls and the hardwood floors create a welcoming, "come and sit and talk" ambiance. Locals love it! The service is always courteous and thoughtful. You need to allow several minutes for the fresh preparation of the food, but it is so pleasant inside that the wait never seems long. They have eat-in and to-go options. I recommend A SecondCity Cafe and appreciate having been able to enjoy so many pleasant meals there.

I had the turkey avocado melt on sourdough toast and a cucumber-ginger-avocado soup. There was a lot of flavor in both and the soup was unlike anything I'd ever tried before, which I always appreciate. The service was professional and friendly. But what stood out to me about this quiet, comfy restaurant was the interior and atmosphere. Most of the art in the dining area is from the owner's sisters, and there are some very pleasant landscape pieces.Vegetarian options: Good variety of vegetarian options

I typically enjoy the food here, my meal wasn’t as good as it normally is, and on top of that the cook/chef, the tall guy in the back, was smoking a cigarette in the kitchen area, very disappointing to see and very off putting, it’s against the law for one and I’m sure it’s a health code violation, tried emailing the owner privately and never got a response. Won’t be back until that is resolved in some way.

We walked out at 12:20 pm after waiting as long as we could for some sort of food. There was another couple that was there when we walked in. We actually walked out with them as they never got food either. I don't know if this is typical or it was a bad day. Based on other reviews, I'd say it must have been a bad day.
