Let's go from start to finish here.Guacamole... I hate all Guacamole, but my family says the guacamole here was amazing. So I'll go with them on it.Chips and salsa. Chips were good, but salsa was bland. The only difference was the smoky taste from one red to another. In my opinion... not worth the order. Your local taco joint has better chips and salsa. Now, onto the meals. My youngest son had the tamales. ABSOLUTELY GARBAGE!! EVERYONE AT THE TABLE SPIT IT OUT. 100% trash for the ridiculous price of 2 TAMALES....2 TAMALES!!!! YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF WHAT YOU PUT OUT FOR FOOD THERE.I had the 1/2lb pork carnitas... I was served a 1/2lb of burnt ends and a slab of fat with 2 tortillas. I was able to make 1 taco of the mess that was in the bowl, and even at that, it was barely ok. Flavor was nowhere to be found, and meat that was able to be picked through was tough. I tried covering it in the smorgasbord of toppings provided, but that didn't even work. It's just a taco of rough meat and fat. Taco Bell has done a better taco at this point.Steak carnitas were pretty good. Good flavor, and the meat was tendor. No real complaints, other than not enough shells were provided from the start. 1lb of meat and 4 shells really doesn't make any sense at all.Octopus was actually pretty good. It's not tough at alltender. Flavor and texture. Would definitely order it again. My oldest had the steak tacos. He definitely wasn't impressed and barely ate 1 of the 3 and said he'd rather eat chicken nuggets at home and left his plate. Steak tacos are one of his favorite meals, btw and he couldn't finish oneAll in all, the staff were incredible and very polite and gracious. Our server went above and beyond with getting us a table to have drinks before our actual table was ready. The food, on the other hand, was far from the price point on the menu. I myself will definitely never go out of my way to stop here. You're not a Michelin Star restaurant. Please stop acting like it. You're in Crown Point. All in all, the drinks were above average, but the food definitely fell below the bar for what this place asks in price. In my opinion, stop over at Square Roots or Culinary Misfits and spend waaaay less money for actually decent food. Provecho has definitely not lived up to the hype that it was given. The fancy ambiance and settings do not live up to the food that is served. Was glad to try it out, but our family will definitely pass again on this overpriced excuse for Latin cuisine.

Wife have been there about 4x. We love it. I'm Mexican and I can say their food is exceptional and they do the food justice. Although I think the food is considered central American. The steak is always so tender, drinks are out of sight (I order the black and gold), they have a good tequila selection and the dessert is also phenomenal. Last time I had the red snapper and it was superb. Very fresh. Be mindful that reservations are recommended, or you'll unlikely get a seat. If you're ok with the bar then you should be ok. I personally don't mind the bar but you don't get to experience the ambiance of the rest of the place sitting at the bar.

We go to Provecho a lot. It is always great. I love the staff and the food! The bartender makes a great old fashioned. It is my favorite place in Crown Point. Thanks for always providing a wonderful dining experience.

Dined week of Christmas and everything was delicious. Came back tonight and food was lacking flavor. Ordered exact same item and it just wasn’t the same, steak tacos were missing seasoning, empanada filling meat was not as good, and beans lacked the rich flavor they brought previously. Will try it again because of how amazing it was my first time, but something was really off tonight.

The food is incredible, totally reckoning the fajitas, the drinks were great and complimented the meal. We ate a lot of shareable appetizers and had an amazing time.

Fantastic recommendation was given to me to come here. Latin fusion sounded good to me. I’m more of a bourbon guy, but am willing to try some agave based spirits.I sat at the bar and Emily too k great care of me. She made me a Rose Street in a rocks glass over a large cube and it was fantastic. I moved on to an order of carnitas and a single order of guacamole. Food was flavorful and a good amount. Would definitely go there again when I have the opportunityParking: Restaurant is located on the square in Crown Point. I was able to park on the street a short walk away from the restaurant

In 2023, I set a goal to visit one “new-to-me” Mexican restaurant each month. And for the final restaurant of 2023, Provecho did it not disappointment! The hubby and I found Provecho on Google and it had an average of 4.5 in reviews. It took only 20 minutes to get to the restaurant from the WonderLights in Merrillville. Provecho is in the Historic Downtown area of Crown Point. It’s a really nice and trendy area. The night we visited was super cold and windy, and we walked about 1 1/2 blocks to get there. Street parking can be tight. Of course when we left, there were tons of parking spots!Thankfully no reservation was needed and we were seated right away. Unfortunately, we were seated across from the exit door to get to the outdoor igloos. Yes, igloos, where people can dine and drink outdoors in heated igloos. We would get a quick bursts of cold air from time to time. We had long sleeves so it wasn’t too bad.Our waitress was phenomenal, knew the menu very well, and gave nice suggestions. I had a nice view of the kitchen area and wood burning stove. I was happy with our choices from the menu. The best thing I ate was the Short Ribs and Scallops over Poblano Grits! Wow! Just wonderful!Every thing was flavorful and was a great ending for our 2023 food challenge!
