We ate fans of Gerst Haus. Great beer choices, ok pricing, similar to every other restaurant's pricing. I'm not a huge fan of German style food, but everyone else loves it. Definitely recommend Gerst Bavarian Haus!

We had a late lunch their today with our family. The restaurant was minimally crowded and in an old general store type building. The service was good and the food was excellent. We started out with their humongous pretzel and dipping sauce. Yum yum. We also tried the loaded potato skins and doing them equally tasteful. For our main dish we split the sampler platter. You can seemed from several entrees and this was an excellent choice to experience quiet a variety of food and sides.

We eat here often. We stopped in April 2024. Service was great, food was excellent. We had all traditional German food, we have been to Germany. Gerst Haus is as close as it gets. We did have Fried Oysters for the appetizer. They were great.

Fabulous place with great service. My first visit, my husband had been a couple of times since he is in area for work. Love the character and history of the building. Our server was amazing and knowledgeable. She made great recommendations especially about the beers. Started with the big pretzel (not on the menu but ask for it, you won't be sorry). I had corned beef and cabbage while my husband chose schnitzel. Both were great serving sizes and really good. We decided to take dessert, apple struesal, to go for home and it was perfect.
It's sometimes hit or miss. Sometimes the food is great and then other times it's just meh. Paprika chicken is to die for!Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly

It's too expensive for what you get. We dined in once and took to-go once while traveling through the area. I regret the second trip there. The potato salad was so sugary, we couldn't eat it. My bratwurst was on a very small piece of toast that immediately tore, instead of a hoagie bun. There was so much juice, from what looked like canned green beans, that it soaked the food box through, and the burger was very greasy. The hostess was very close to being considered rude, and you have to pay a credit card fee to top off the higher prices.
