Metro Chick is probably the best sandwich I've ever had.

What a gem! The pastrami was incredible and we also loved all the sides. Even my parents, who can be particular, said they will be going back!

Very clean restaurant, friendly staff and great food that's made with care. Their corn chips are made in house and taste really good too.

Amazing food! I tried everything so far and love it all. If there's anything I can say is the metro Chick is the spiciest sandwich EVER. It's too hot for me but my son loves it. Yes, even our teens love Metro too

Best place in the tri state. Lake puts Nashville to shame with his Hot Chicken.

Everything I've ever had there has been really good! Definitely get their picked veggies!

Not my cup of tea and out of pastrami, corn beef, egg salad and potato salad. Not sure you can call yourself a deli without pastrami and corn beef.

Food was ok, but the wait was forever for just 4 sandwichs well after lunch rush. Over 30 minutes to go in and out with carryout. For the high price I really expected something better. Portions were good, but it just took way to long.

I have never been disappointed with my meals at Lake's. The quality of the food and prep shows! Every thing I have ordered has had such a great taste that lingers long after your meal has been consumed, making you contemplate when you are going to eat there again!

Love this place. Everything is homemade and locally bought. I feel right at home every time i come in. The food is amazing and you get a lot for the price. If you are looking for that homemade taste come on in to lakeside.

We liked one item on the menu, but have been left desiring for the potential of this place to be fulfilled... First the positives. The hummus and hand made tortilla chips are amazing... Now for the negatives... The food appears to be quite pricey until you realize that anything you order is going to be smothered in toppings... Sometimes it's 'coleslaw' that tastes like it's just cabbage soaked in straight vinegar... (yes it was listed as slaw and not what you're thinking) or a 'mild' sauce that literally will make you think you're doing some spicy food challenge, or random dripping goo that has no flavor but is somehow supposed to mask the flavorless hunks of meat that are put on a bun and served to you. The food is a very hit or miss situation. I love that the owner is willing to put his own spin on things, but it misses the mark as far as being a satisfying experience more often than not. Summary: go in for the hummus and chips... But leave before they get a chance to sell you much else.

Everything I have tried has been delish. The quality of the food is superb. Lake's is hands down the best sandwich shop in Evansville.

Craving a sandwich? Want something new? Then Lake Metro Deli is your sandwich place. I have never seen so many unique choices! Three different fish sandwiches? It must be that time of year (Lent). Anyway, I tried the Banh Mi and my aunt had the Jerusalem Veggie Sandwich. We were both pleased. While Lake Metro's Banh Mi is not exactly your typical Vietnamese sandwich, I liked their take on it. Topped with daikon and carrots with pickled cucumbers. The meat was juicy. And the entire sandwich drizzled with spicy mayo (you know, that sauce you often get on top of sushi). And the bread had that crunch you want with this type if sandwich. Definitely recommend, although next time I may want to try the Steamed Buns for comparison (another option that you usually don't find on a sandwich shop menu). My aunt enjoyed her sandwich as well--lots of fresh arugula, tomato, cucumbers, onions, and hummus on a soft, hearty grain bread. Price was good when you add chips and a drink. The sides are pretty standard. But remember--the sandwiches are what makes this place. Overall, we will be back!

Everything is always fantastic. The Reuben is my go-to and never disappoints. My mother recently tried the Croque Madam and loved it. The brussel sprouts are a newer item on the menu and I think they're the perfect level of savory without losing that fresh brussel sprout flavor.
