“This 92 year old restaurant/institution was delightful! Having a family style dinner in a pristinely kept old home was a complete experience. It is definitely a place I will bring all visitors to try as long as they like fried chicken! Best fried chicken I have had in a while and the biscuit recipe is fabulous! “This is my first visit to Joella's. I live like 5 blocks but never came in the 2 yrs I've lived in Indy. I had the quarter half, tweener level heat, mash tators and colored greens. The chicken was cooked to perfection, perfect crunch, perfect spice/heat. Might try hotter next time. The mashed tators and the "kickin" gravy were delicious. Now, the colored greens. Folks, there is a science to cooking great colored greens. Cook'em slow and low, good seasoning, get that tenderness.
