We visited The Yard in Fishers, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. You walk in and order from a kiosk. Then they will send you a text once your food is ready to pick up. Go grab your tray of food and find a nice spot either indoors or outdoors (depending on the weather). Here's what we ordered: I appreciated the balance of flavors and textures in our meal. The salsa, had a creamy rich texture, roasted, smoky, with a hint of heat. Paired with the silky queso, which complimented the salsa without overwhelming the palate with excessive spice. I was just simple! One of my favorite quesos I've had yet! The freshness of the chips adds a satisfying crunch to every bite, enhancing the experience when dipped in the flavorful sauces. Whether you prefer a mild or bold flavor, they have an option for you. The Taco of the Month, named "The Borracho," delights with its bold flavor profile, satisfying crunch, and just the right amount of heat to keep things interesting. Meanwhile, the fajita bursts with juiciness, savory notes, and a hint of sweetness. The juicy brisket taco is tender and succulent, elevated by the au jus that enhances the richness of the seasoned pork. In my personal opinion what truly sets these tacos apart is the soft, flaky taco shell--it strikes the perfect balance, holding everything together without sacrificing texture or flavor. In essence, Gorditos Rust Belt Tacos offers a great place to stop for lunch or dinner and enjoy an authentic upscale taco option! Gorditos has mastered the art of the taco. Well done and we look forward to returning again soon.

Tacos are bland, salsas and guac have little to no flavor. Definitely there are better places to go.

This is 1 of 3 restaurant options at the Sun King Fisher's test kitchen. It was our 1st time trying out the place, which was a little confusing as far as how it's supposed to work (if there were directions, we missed them). We walked in the north door and saw a sea of tables & chairs, with the Sun King bar to the left and counters for the restaurant options on the other side of the room to the south. They have their menu on display overhead and you place your order via the kiosk at the counter. Although I didn't do so, I think you're supposed to enter your phone number at the end of placing your order so that you may get a text when your food order is ready. Failing to do this, I just tried to keep an eye on the space where they seemed to be placing trays of food that customers kept walking up to take to see when our order would be ready. If you want any of Sun King's beverages, you have to claim a seat and a server will take your order, which I didn't realize for a bit as I tried to go directly to the bar initially. All of that aside, here is our scoop on the food:Gordito’s Bread $6 - was basically a grilled cheese. Was good, but not sure we would order it again necessarily. It came with a consummé sauce for dippingNachitos Gorditos $9 - They didn’t skimp on the toppings, although I didn’t notice the bánzogi (refried garbanzo beans) as much as I would have liked due to the variety of other toppings. The smoky drizzle tended to dominate, but we would order this again.Signature Taco $4.25 & Cheesy Fajita Tacos $4.75 - We did 1 of each of these w/ the bánzogi. The taco shell was unique and very good, basicallly a cheesy corn tortilla. We preferred the signature as the fajita veggies didn’t really improve what the Signature already provided. We like to frequent Condado's and Torchy's for their tacos and I would put their signature taco right up there with their selections. The bánzogi is a unique option I hadn't had before and would definitely order again. I would like to try this place again and hopefully it will go a little more smoothly after going through the process once now.

Love when a menu and the food is a little different than the standard offerings. That is the case with the food at Gordito’s – not the standard tacos. Between my wife and I we had the Juicy Brisket Taco, the Juicy Pork Tack and the Taco Borracho. All three were excellent. Served on a cheese flour tortilla that has been toasted and crisped in the oven, it gives the flavor and suppleness of flour (as opposed to corn), but with a crispness added in addition to the unique adobo cheese. Well filled with the listed ingredients and definitely deserving of the designation as “juicy.” We really liked these. The side of guacamole was a bit small and did not stand out at all. The Esquites (Mexican Street Corn) was excellent on the other hand. It did seem a little pricy for the size. The table app ordering was a bit confusing and not at all smooth. I suggest you just go up to the counter and order on their machine instead. And, of course, at this location you have a full selection of Sun King beer to select from. So conclusion – great tacos, good but small sides, confusing app since right there in the location, plenty of beer.

Tucked away amongst probably 20 other area restaurants in the very new and popular Fishers District, the Fishers Test Kitchen is a really cool concept if you're looking for an above average fast food type of experience. Among the three restaurants you can order from, Gordito's is serving up a niche brand of tasty Latino dishes that primarily center around melty, delicious cheese. This lively up tempo food hall is a great spot for the whole family, and there's a chicken restaurant (don't recall the name) that serves up chicken tenders for kiddos, and Sun King brewery and Gordito's to make sure mom and dad have a cold beer and a delicious taco or torta. Once you're seated a server comes over and explains the way this all works. You can order by scanning a QR code at your table, or by using a kiosk in front of the restaurant itself, or the server can take your order for you. The wife and I got a couple beers and then perused the small, but deliciously concise, menu offered by Gordito's. We opted for a couple of their Cheesy Chicken Fajita Tacos, an order of Gordito's Bread and some chips and their 6-Cylinder Queso. Not only was all the food cheesy and delicious, but the value for the food here was fantastic. The wife and I were both really full for under $25. The Gordito's bread was like an amazing grilled cheese.... served with consume and even MORE cheese for dipping. If you're lactose intolerant, you're gonna have a tough time ordering at Gordito's.. good thing there is a burger joint and the previously mentioned chicken joint to choose from, but I can honestly tell you, without even trying the other spots - Gordito's was the best.... I mean.. if you're a fan of cheesy goodness and you like Mexican food, then this place is a no-brainer!!

The best tacos I've ever had! Always fresh and full of flavor. I prefer the fajita tacos as they come with a side of queso to dip your taco in.

This place is just AMAZING. I had their brisket torta and it was absolutely delicious, it really took me back to México in every bite, the bread is perfect, the combination of flavors are delicious. My husband had a chicken taco and he loved it too. You go to Mexican restaurants and you don’t get actual Mexican food, just the same stuff at every place but Gordito’s is definitely worth to try if you want to taste real Mexican tacos and tortas.

Food was fantastic! They also had great customer service. They were at the Fall Festival at Sundown Gardens, and were definitely a nice addition.

We originally went to Fisher's Test Kitchen to try the Taiwanese food at Li Pu's but it turned out the schedule on the Test Kitchen's website was wrong. Nevertheless, we certainly couldn't leave without getting a nice dinner and Gordito's seemed the most appetizing of the choices. We ordered two items:Gordito's Bread ($6) - Woah, this is like an adult grilled cheese - a dense, very nicely grilled bun filled with a super rich cheese mix, with a fantastic caramelized cheese crust on both sides of the bread. On the side, a warm, slightly spicy queso cheese mix to dip the bread into, along with a nice savory consomme to make it extra soggy. The consomme is heavily seasoned, with a kind of vegetal sour quality and very slight spice from ancho chiles and a fantastic meatiness. This is the kind of grilled cheese and dip you dream of. Delicious.Pork Juicy Torta ($15.25) - Gordito's certainly knows how to make a torta. It starts with that same cheese bun as with the Gordito's bread, then adds pulled pork, corn salsa filled with crisp whole corn kernels, tangy cabbage slaw, and guac. The pork is a little dry, but they give a generous container of that delicious consomme on the side to dip everything into. There was a lot of grease that soaked into the paper wrapped around the torta and it dripped incessantly to the bottom of the tray while eating. Yet the sandwich itself didn't come across as excessively greasy - the bun still had that dense yet fluffy cheesy texture and wasn't particularly soaked with oil. The only problem - the bun was actually way too small for how much stuff is stuffed inside! It becomes extremely messy to eat, with pork, corn, and cabbage sliding out every which way every time you bite into the sandwich. Make sure to keep a bunch of napkins on hand when you eat this. Gordito's has really perfected that cheese bread and is a perfectly good choice to try at Fisher's Test Kitchen. We didn't get to try our first choice, but after eating at Gordito's we didn't particularly mind.

Excellent tacos. Way better than One Trick Pony. Way better than torchy’s. Probably a bit better than the actually Mexican Taco Joint on 96th street. I’m a fan.

One of the stations inside the Sun King / Fishers Test Kitchen. We had chips & salsa trios and the brisket nachos. Food came out pretty quickly. Nice portions, and lots of flavor. We ate outdside on the patio seating. #yum #ReviewsByRL

The chicken tacos are amazing!! The service could use a little work; seeing as no one was at the counter when placing the order (you order at a kiosk). But the overall environment was live and the food came out fast
