One of our sons turned us on to this interesting business on Engle road. The owner imports coffee from many countries and roasts the green beans in his huge commercial roaster. The day we were there he was offering almost 20 varieties!!The smell of roasting beans was incredible!Hempton boasts a SCA professional coffee certification! The place has a rustic feel to it with handcrafted items in the entryway! The coffee bar features several hot pots of Java for sampling! The owner is happy to educate his customers on types of coffee , roasting and brewing techniques. You are encouraged to wonder around and observe the large bags of coffee obtained from around the world! Hempton is a real expert and coffee historian. Ask him about "cowboy coffee".We have enjoyed all the the coffee we have purchased and become regulars!!Currently Jeff is open Wednesday evening and Saturdays.... Give him a call to check when he will be in.

After traveling the world and trying coffee every step of the way, this was hands down the most unique and delicious spot yet!!! Jeff was incredibly hospitable and appeared to have doctorate level knowledge of coffee. Great all around experience and phenomenal coffee of all different roasts. Highly recommend to anyone whether they are coffee drinkers or not. Its definitely worth the drive.

Coffee is $1 a cup. This is the place you go to to talk shop about coffee and enjoy sampling as well. Open most Saturday mornings. **Not a coffeehouse**

Wow. 5/5. Bought the Brazilian Black Gold yesterday, brewed a cup this morning. Fantastic, and exactly as described. Go to the shop, talk to Jeff about what you like in coffee, and he'll point you in the right direction. If you're curious about the roasting process, Jeff can teach you that too!

Jeff knows his coffee. He has stories behind every origin of all his beans. His shop is like walking into a home. Very clean with all the fresh coffee you can drink. I walked out with 4 pounds of whole beans and a neat story about each of them. I will be back when I need a refill!
