So very disappointing...we ate here two nights .. Did not want to leave a negative review but dinners were just plain bad...tasteless.. and a 45 minute wait both times

Having lived overseas, I have had some very delicious Indian food. Coming back to the US, I was told Taj Mahal is as good as it gets for Indian food in Indiana. However, we have eaten at Taj Mahal twice now, and were disappointed both times. The curry options are ok, but not as flavorful as we would like. Getting mild, medium, or hot just adds more heat, and doesn't add more flavor. For the bread options, I was looking for fluffy, buttery, and delicious flatbread, and I was met with mostly flavorless flatbread that was somewhat burnt. Even their garlic naan or cheese naan is so flavorless that it didn't seem worth getting.Tonight, I tried their butter chicken curry (they call it Chicken Mahkani), and it was almost like tomato soup with chicken in it. Where are the spices? Where is the flavor? Not only that, but the service was slow and rude. It took over 40 minutes from ordering to get our food, and then we felt rushed, with the staff trying to ask us if we were done with our plates and asking if we needed boxes, both while we were still eating. If that's not bad enough, the food is pricey. I understand the food will be somewhat Americanized, but this is ridiculous. We will not be back again.Vegetarian options: They do have quite a few vegetarian options.

Horrible and completely overpriced! Do not eat here! I literally paid $15 for plain white rice and unseasoned grilled chicken bites plate that should be priced as an appetizer. I wouldn't give them any stars if I could!

Food was good. Young lady that wanted on us was very nice. Here is why you get only 4 stars. Our orders were in. People came and went. We still didn't have our food after being there over an hour. Then like dopes, we asked where our food was. It magically appeared!?!

Cleanliness- found the location to be very clean. (did not check the lavatory)Atmosphere- Simple & plain with good lighting. Not too noisyFood- The food is always good! 3 spicy levels to choose from.Service- Not so well this time. Plates arrived sporadically, causing it to be uncomfortable. The staff seemed agitated.
Used to love the biryani special with included onion chutney and side of garlic naan to go. They started putting raisins in the biryani and charging extra for the chutney. For $17, should include chutney. Also the naan was burnt a few times so we stopped ordering it.

not just best indian restaurant in town, best restaurant in town straight up. literally have never been disappointed with anything i’ve gotten from here, 10s across the board ?
Ordered delivery from here and was very disappointed by the quality of the food. The garlic naan looked and tasted like it came out of a bag with no garlic flavor. The chicken was very fatty and slimy when bitten into. The tea was also off with very little tea flavor. Just kinda of tasted like dirty milk. Would not recommend this restaurant, even for Fort Wayne.
Delicious ?
