I know nobodys grandma gave them that Mac recipe or that “”hot water cornbread “”” the Mac egg rolls wasn’t crunchy ,he warmed them up in the microwave, the croutons on my salad was stale the onions was dried out and stale!! The jerk chicken dinner was BLAND ! SUPER SUPER BLAND ! The rice was mushy & BLAND! & if u got high blood sugar don’t DARE drink the koolaid , my friend went into a sugar coma right at the table !!!!!!!!!! They don’t even offer u water or salt and pepper knowing we needed it ….2/10 only because the customer service was great.

First time visiting D&K Soul Food and it was delicious! We gotGrilled Chicken Caesar WrapRomaine lettuce, roasted garlic, carrots, Parmesan cheese and Caesar dressing and aJerk Chicken WrapRomaine lettuce, roasted peppers, carrots, cheddar cheese, Jerk chicken and Jerk ranch dressingboth came with chips. We also ordered 4 Wings chicken only and a bottle of OBAMA sweet tea.Both wraps were bursting with flavor and lots of chicken, sauces and veggies! Jerk had some spice to it but not too overly hot but I'm sure if you want it really hot that can be accomplished. The Caesar was a true Caesar salad in a wrap! Their meats are very well seasoned and not overly salty. I would prefer the wrap wrapped tighter so all the goodness doesn't fall out . We tried the wings and they were good and fresh . No need to add anything on top because the breading was nicely seasoned! The wings were small which was my only issue ?.lol The sweet tea was banging but definitely not an everyday drink . We will be going back and trying the fish and more ! ????♀️???

I bought egg rolls, the Mac and yams , and the holiday roll… need more seasoning on the food. They are bland .. and the cranberry (dipping sauce) for the holiday roll is just cranberry sauce scooped out. It’s not dippable for an egg roll. Also I got a berry smoothie. I ordered Cornbread Dressing,An a carmel pound cake on Tuesday March 12,2024 it was awful and old ,i normally stick with the same places kelly's but he was close .the dressing was soggy the date on the pound cake was march 2 an it wasn't fresh smelled like old milk ,i wouldn't recommend.

Look at this right here! True old school.It was worth every penny. The food was amazing and made me feel like I was at my grandparent's house. 21 million views from my reviews. So trust me when I say this. Best kept secret in Gary or maybe even Chicagoland people. Yes, you may have to wait for the food just trust me it's worth it. I spent 55.00 but as you can see we want leftovers. This also includes dessert !! Our first experience was 4 month's ago the egg rolls had been great.
