“It is too bad that this excellent outside dining only place has to close for the season when inclement weather begins. I am so glad I gave it a try before it closes in ten days. The building is an old train caboose turned into a kitchen where they turn out tremendously good food. I had to walk into the kitchen to use the ATM as they are a cash only establishment. The kitchen was small but really clean and the guys inside were welcoming and very nice. Their service was top notch and quick. Outside there are round picnic tables on a deck with a few tables on a lawn under the trees. It is just a great spot for this kind of place. We both had the Maxwell Street Polish dog which comes with mustard, onions, sweet Relish, and sport peppers on a poppy seed bun. WOW! Their onions are chopped and then grilled to perfection. Everything worked perfectly well together for a terrific dining experience. If you find yourself in Portage, Indiana before October 13 or after the cold season, give them a try! You will thank me later.“
