O mercy!! Great place with good people and food. That being said, make sure you are able to stand in line. Dont know that I have ever seen a line under 5 ppl and on a hot sunny Sunday afternoon... you should have ordered a quart from them and stayed home. One thing I do like is the benches in the back... great to set and wait on your food while you have someone ordering for you :-) OR nice to chill with other people eating. Love the fact at the end of the season they sell product cheaper.. but they do go so fast, cant ever catch it! They do have a food truck, and they also do fairs, events!! Go visit!!

Chief's is a must visit location if you are near Goshen.My husband got the Raspberry 1dip waffle cone and loved it!I myself loved the 1 dip banana pudding waffle cone, and it was delicious!!

Judging from the line out to the street, you'd think The Chiefs Ice Cream was served in a golden waffle cone. Alas it is not, and to be honest the ice cream really isn't that amazing either. Just your typical ice cream you can get at any ice cream parlor in the country. However, there's just something about waiting in line outside with half the town on a hot summer day. Thinking about what flavor you're going to get, kids running around people in line, bumping into folks you haven't seen in awhile, finally placing your order and getting your treat. Then sitting in the shade and cooling off. It's that hometown staple that brings all that nastalgia flowing into your mind that makes this place worth waiting in that line!

My daughter and I went after dinner and it was a delicious treat. We went there around 5:00-ish on a Tuesday and we were the only ones in line. Perfect timing for us. I am certain the weekends are busier.What we ordered - I got one scoop of the peanut butter explosion and one scoop of coffee break! It was the perfect combination! My daughter got vanilla in a cone and it was a ton and she loved it. Great place for ice cream and to chill. Thanks for a great experience!

After dinner tonight, we went to sample some ice cream at The Chief, a famous ice cream place in Goshen (ranked #1 in Indiana and # 31 in USA) - so they say in their advertisements. We had butter pecan, raspberry, mint chocolate chip, chocolate, no sugar added black cherry and no sugar chocolate. All of the flavors were enjoyed tremendously. Speedy service.

Great ice cream and excellent service. No one in our group tested the waters with dietary issues or allergens, but their website says that they have dairy free/vegan options available and that pre-packaged pints are gluten free.If we lived closer, this would be one of our regular spots!

The serving sizes are big and the ice cream is delicious! It was pretty busy when we went but the line went fast and gave us time to decide what we wanted since there were so many options between ice cream flavors, shakes, malts, and sundaes. There is seating in the back of the building, but when it's busy people are left to sit in the grass or stand around so we did bring some camping chairs to sit in to leave the bigger tables open for families and so we didn't have to sit on the ground! That was definitely a good move for such a busy night.
