What a great place. Got Cheese steak and shoe string fries. So delicious and hot/ fresh food. Then I checked out pies, funny cause they bring a tray full of pie slices to show off what they have. I got a piece of the peanut butter and chocolate cream pie. So very tasty! Great experience being the first visit to the South Side Soda Shop. Also the inside of this place is very cute and looks like an old diner
Wow! Where to start? The food is great, just like the old diner you would go to for your favorite comfort food. Only place I have been that serves Shoo Fly Pie and believe me, it is delicious. I don't think you could order anything and be disappointed. You won't walk away hungry either. The service was great. They are so friendly and helpful you feel at home from the first time you go there. If you haven't been there, then you are missing out.

This is a cool place in a cool college area. It has a hometown diner style atmosphere.I know the proprietor comes from Phila., PA, so I thought the Philly cheese steak would be a good bet, but I was somewhat disappointed. Not near enough meat, peppers and onions, and though i ordered "wiz", I believe they just dipped out some nacho cheese sauce and put it on the sandwich. So it ended up a sandwich that was more of a nacho cheese filled bun.Other than that, everything else in there...read full review
