This place is always our go to when we want Mexican food. I highly suggest the beef tips taco salad. You are seated immediately when you step in and the staff is so friendly. Your drink is never empty and your food comes out insanely quick but still taste so fresh. Better than any of the mainstream Mexican food places we have been to!

I was a little disappointed with our visit. First, they kind of forgot about us after bringing our drinks. We finally had to flag someone to take our order. Apparently they hadn't assigned anyone to us. They had plenty of servers, just none assigned at first. After that the service was good.The portions were good, and I did like the flavor of my chile Colorado. It was more intense Chile flavor which I like. My wife's nacho platter was huge and had good flavor.My rice was kind of dry and not very flavorful. The refried beans didn't have a lot of flavor either. They had good texture and looked good, just didn't have much flavor.They do have a large menu with lots of options.I probably need to make another visit sometime just to see the difference. There aren't many restaurant options in Hope. I wouldn't avoid the place if I were in the area, but I wouldn't make a special trip either.

Friday evening was pretty busy and although 6 of us were seated right away the service was alittle slow. But we weren't in a hurry so visited while we were waiting. Complimentary chips and salsa, and I always order the white cheese dip. Reasonable priced menu items. Parking across the street.

Always an excellent experience at Tonala. We have been coming here since they opened. The food has never disappointed, in fact it's our favorite Mexican restaurant by far. The service is top notch. The food is always fresh and excellent. The prices are affordable and we often have enough for another meal or two. This restaurant is always clean. Super clean. The owner works alongside his staff when he's there. Highly recommend.Vegetarian options: Lots of options including vegetarian fajitas.Parking: Located on the square in Hope. Curbside oarking, extra spots across the street and behind the restaurant.
