great food, great service, good times. I am never going to be able to forgive myself for what I did on March 3rd, 2007.

The sushi here is unmatched, in my opinion! This has quickly become my favorite place to eat out. I have not tried anything here yet that I didn't like. Service is always great! It's usually not so busy that you ever have to wait for a table.Also.....the lobster rangoon appetizer.....?!!!!!!!Highly recommend!

Yamato - Steakhouse of Japan - Hibachi & Sushi As a first time in Huntington Indiana I wasn't really expecting much from a mini mall Asian restaurant, and I think my expectations were met pretty well. Although the whole meal itself was a bit mid there were some high points in my experience. Beginning with the higher end of my meal. THE MEAT AND THE SAUCE, I was quite impressed how good the meat was, the quality and cook of the meat combined with the sweet sticky sauce was a an amazing combination, definitely the best part of the meal. When a place asks "how would you like your steak cooked" I'm always skeptical, I usually like the meat still mooing so when the meat came out as the nice medium I asked for I was throughly impressed. THE MISO SOUP, I love a good miso soup so when those two appetizer bowls came out I was hoping the miso soup would rock, and it did. It had a really nice depth of flavor and it was seasoned perfectly, definitely one of the better miso soups I've had. THE DECOR, In most places I feel the the decor and vibe are just as important as the food, the restaurant had a really nice colorful vibe with Japanese umbrellas on the ceiling, art all over the walls and greenery to liven up the place, I also really liked the PNG of the lobster on the wall that was my favorite part. Now I'm going to talk about all the mid points of the meal, EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE SALAD AND MUSIC CHOICE, yeah mostly everything after that was mid. the sushi, the tempura, the fried rice. It's was all meh. I was mostly disappointed at the sushi, the box came with six California roll, but you might as well called it an avocado roll because it was mostly avocado. The fried rice was also a disappointment, it was lacking flavor, I think I'm comparing it too hard with my moms fried rice because my moms fried rice ruins other fried rices for me, the tempura was also lacking flavor, same with the egg roll. What I can appreciate from it, is that it was definitely fried fresh to order, they came out hot and really crispy, the rice wine vinegar helped with the flavor issue but not enough to be a high point of my experience. The service was also ok, nothing too special to talk about my server didn't talk too much. Now for the low points. THE SALAD AND MUSIC CHOICE, when they brought out the two appetizer bowls I was hoping for the best, the miso soup was good but they brought out the most sorry excuse for a salad, they brought me only lettuce, that probably came pre cut in a bag, still with some brown spots and a poop plop of French dressing, I had to douse it in yum yum sauce to eat it, oh and bonus point they had yum yum sauce bottles at every table so that was nice. It really helped with that salad, and oh my goodness the music was so annoying, as if pop music wasn't already kinda annoying as is they had the audacity to put in some royalty free booty covers of said booty songs, at some point during the meal the music shut off and it was a relief I would have rather be in awkward silence than that shit. But other than that my experience was a decent one, and the amount of food you get for the price was a really good value! Would I come here again? Probably not. If I was confined to this area only? Maybe. 6.9/10

Stopped in this town for work and after looking up some restaurants in the area I stumbled upon this knock out of a place. Staff was exceptional, attentive, and very friendly. I ordered the combination hibachi dinner with filet mignon and chicken and it didn't disappoint one bit! Of course washed it down with their well priced large hot house sake. If you live here or are passing through and you haven't checked this place out.....Do It and thank me later.
