Repeal is a great bar located in Indy's Fountain Square / Fletcher Place, one of the city's best neighborhoods. As the name suggests, Repeal has a prohibition theme that compliments it's brick walls, mismatched ceiling, and distillery next door.You enter from the corner of Virginia and College and are greeted by a hostess station and comfortable atmosphere. Repeal is more of a restaurant than a bar, but that's okay. They do both very well. As required by Indiana law, several lower dining tables are separated by a stylish metal and wooden dividing wall from a classical all wood bar. The bar has a dark wooden top with a large rounded rail and a couple of old-timey lamps. Several wooden bar stools with a back support line two sides of the bar. The back bar contains mostly bottle shelves, with the taps and a couple HDTVs. The SW wall provides a great look into the 1205 distillery.The beer selection is very good, and their mixed drinks are outstanding. But where Repeal really excels is their food. Hoosiers love our comfort food, and Repeal does comfort food very well. I prefer the BBQ, but everything is delicious. I've only sat at the bar, but the service has always been excellent. With so many great options in the area (Bluebeard), Repeal absolutely stands out. I highly recommend the place and look forward to my next visit.

I've always loved Repeal but this has become one of my quarantine favs. Since COVID started, my rule for having dinner/drinks with friends is that it must be outside to maximize safety. They have a cute little outdoor set up with plenty of space in between and hand sanitizer's on each table. Now let's get to the most important stuff, the food. Their Cajun Alfredo pasta is to die for, I have dreams about it. You can get it with chicken or shrimp but if you're a rebel like me, you should get it with both. For their lunch menu, they have the most amazing spicy chicken sandwich. I honestly think it's what Popeyes and Chicfila aspire to execute but doesn't even come close. If you're a libation enthusiast, their wine selection is unmatched and all of the cocktails are A-1. Most recently I had their version of a Moscow mule that featured strawberry purée, absolutely delish! Cant wait to go back.

5 TRILLION STARS Once in a great while you find something that makes you believe in magic and the greatness of humanity again ... best way I can describe my very first visit to REPEAL restaurant in Fountain Square. IF you are reading this. Gather a group of your friends and make a reservation. Beyond your experience enjoying the best food in Indianapolis you will go backward in time with all the great history of prohibition and IF you are SUPER LUCKY you may meet SCOTT ... he is the worlds greatest server and a Master Mixologist ... ask him to create you his famous Smoking Moscow Mule with Mescal and Strawberry Froth ... MindBlowing ... And get the Chicken and Biscuits with the apple butter maple syrup .. speechlessI will upload some photos to try to come close to my excitement about my new favorite restaurant on Earth ... going back Friday lunch to grab the REPEAL smokehouse burger Scott said it's the best snd I trust him. This is not the Indianapolis I recognize. Downtown area use to have very little cuisine besides major chains by the circle and in the mall. Repeal was a surprise treat as I was looking for takeout upon my visit back home in Indy. I stick to a largely plant based diet and Repeal had decent options (1-2 more would make it!). The veggie medley and the salad were excellent and were not plain in any regard. Also enjoyed the nachos, did not expect such good nachos from a place branded on comfort food! Seems like they have a great covid-19 setup with large patio area and decent parking. Repeal is one of those places that is not a hit or miss but a solid find. Looking forward to seeing it grow. The service is always outstanding and accommodating. The outdoor seating area during Covid has been a nice addition. The food never disappoints. Highly recommend the Brussel sprouts!

My first restaurant experience in Indianapolis & I can't say enough! Food was awesome!!!!! Addison our server was awesome, sweet and made life seem a little normal despite all this COVID stuff. Recommend getting a cocktail because they did not disappoint.

Had a wonderful dinner last night with my friends, and Ms. Sid took such good care of us! Made great recommendations, made sure we always had everything we needed, and was so sweet to talk to. The food came out fast and tasted great, but 100% would go back just for the service.
Great place with great service. The baby back ribs were delicious and the meat was so tender! Definitely going back.

Went their for dinner and was impressed by their vegan and dairy free options. They have very good French fries but the spinach walnut cranberry salad wasn't anything special. Will be going back.

More people need to come to Repeal! It's a hidden gem beyond compare. They're located directly beside the 1205 distillery and the owners have placed glass windows between the two locations, allowing you to see the inside of the distillery next-door. As it is connected, most of the drinks featured on the menu contain 1205 liquor. We ordered the everywhere and tusk drinks and both were good. Their food is what really blew us away! We ordered the chicken sandwich and chicken and biscuits with onion rings and fries. The chicken was some of the best fried chicken we've had in Indy. It was moist yet super crispy. Might be a bold statement, but our meals were some of the best dishes we've had in Indy.

Tonight, Repeal has treated me to the best dining experience I’ve had in a very long time. My friend and I we’re treated to wonderful service from staff members with amazing personalities! Oh my god! You guys really rock it out! Seriously! Thanks for being yourselves and caring about your jobs! Our server was awesome and engaging, loved it, the bartender was cool and rocked out his drinks like a professional machine, the food was unreal and rocked our socks off, and the overall environment was very chill and enjoyable. I can’t thank you guys enough for taking dare of us! I will definitely be returning as well as spreading the word about this place! Keep doing what your doing! Please!
