Love love love this place. Amazing food, the owner is a gem. Family run by kind gracious people. If you ask they will explain all the culture behind the amazing food. Will always be back. Oh and be prepared for leftovers because the portions are huge.

One of the best meals we have had at a restaurant. Owner was incredible with our kids and the food was fabulous. I’m sad that this will be the last month they are there!!

The restaurant has such a nice ambience and the customer service was excellent. The reviews I read prior to visiting were spot on. The owner takes the time at each table to ensure your dining experience is an enjoyable one. His wife cooks the food and it really did feel like I was eating in their home. It's no wonder they have such loyal customers. Sad to hear they will be closing in late May. The owner is a writer and plans to devote more time to that. I felt fortunate we got in before they close because we had such a good experience. 5 stars - Tea. This was the greatest surprise. They prepare their own tea blend and can serve it hot or as an iced tea. Our table tried both ways and they were both amazing. I had to buy a tin of their tea blend on the way out. The black tea and warming spices were well-balanced. 5 stars - Vegetarian/vegan plate. The five dishes I chose were Ye-Misir Wot, Shiro, Gomen, Yatkilt Alicha, and Ye-Dinish Ena Carrot Wot. My favorites were the spicy ones, Ye-Misir Wot (split red lentils simmered in our deliciously rich Berbere sauce with onions, garlic, and ginger) and Ye-Dinish Ena Carrot Wot (Potatoes and carrots simmered and stewed with Berbere sauce, onions, garlic, ginger, turmeric and a special St. Yared seasoning). The Injera bread was just the right amount of sourness and complimented the vegetable dishes so well.

Absolutely delicious food. This was our first time trying Ethiopian food and we took our kids, ages 5, 5, and 7 They have a kids menu so we weren't worried the kids would be too picky to eat. However, we ordered the bread appetizer and everyone inhaled it it was so good! Then we ordered the three meat and seafood sharable dinner with 4 veggies. It comes with bread you use to pick up the food. The chicken was absolutely delicious as well as the whitefish. They check for vaccine passports as well as ask you wear a mask when walking in, which we really appreciated!! Great family great food- and a wealth of knowledge that they share with you about Tigray. We are so sad to hear they are closing but are coming again before they do!

I wish we would have been able to find this place sooner. You will feel welcomed the second you come through the door. They make it feel like home and are so kind and helpful. The food was amazing! We will have to come back very soon!

Didn't get to try the food, as the door requires proof of vaccination and I didn't have my card. I'm not sure how common it is for people to carry that around but it's the first place i've been to require it. So make sure you have your card if you go here!

Wonderful atmosphere and a true cultural experience. The owner is a magnificent tour guide and enhances the overall experience. Lots of cultural artifacts and ethnic jewelry to browse. The food was magnificent!

Finally! We've been meaning to try St Yared's for ages now, and we were finally lucky enough to be able to this evening. I'd heard wonderful reviews from so many friends about the amazing hospitality and food, and they weren't wrong. We chatted at length with the owner and his son, both so gracious and proud of their family restaurant. There were four of us so we shared the vegetable plate for two (choice of 5 veggie dishes plus salad) and the meat platter for two (chicken, beef and lamb, along with two veggies). Everything was delicious. I especially loved the spicy red lentils and the collards and spinach. We will definitely be back. And soon. Note: At this time, they do have a strict mask and vaccination requirement. We were asked to present our vaccination cards at the door and wear masks until we were seated. We appreciated their safety precautions.

You have to be vaccinated to enter! Bunch of crap! I really enjoyed eating her but I'll never be able to again.

Can't say enough good things. Been dining here for several years. Food, drink are always perfect. Recommend the bread, platters, coffees, & spiced tea. Owner of this family business is incredibly friendly and will go out of his way to ensure you feel like part of the family too. So glad there's a place taking CV precautions seriously so we can dine with confidence. Don't miss the morning cafe hours!

First time here and I will definitely be back! The owner is so charismatic and welcoming. He walked me and my fiancé through the meal and helped us create our own combination meal so we could try a little bit of everything. Not only is the service fantastic but the food is out of this world! The flavors and spices are so wonderful and tasty!

Family run and it feels like being a guest in someone’s home. Owners were incredibly warm and food was delicious! Make sure to try the coffee. It’s almost a dessert itself. Can’t believe the gall of some of the one star reviews complaining that the staff asked about vaccinations. Make a reservation and make the trip!
