One of the perks of joining different restaurant food clubs is accruing points towards future purchases, exclusive member deals, & most of them give you something free for your birthday.. in some cases that might just be a free dessert, but Landry's Select Club gives $25 towards your birthday meal. With that being said, me & the Mrs. went to one of her favorites.. Oceanaire. When we switched our diet to pescatarian we began trying more seafood restaurants & Oceanaire is top notch. We still like exploring new places, buy when it comes to special occasions.. we always end up here. They're a little pricey, but since it was Devour week, she got her free dessert + $25.. we continued to let the good times roll. Happy Birthday Mrs. Edwards! ?Dietary restrictions: My wife has a few dietary restrictions ( she can't do tomatoes, mayonnaise, etc) but we've always been able to modify her dishes, if need be, to make sure they're to her liking.Parking: Depending on how rushed we are, sometimes I'll try to find a spot on the street.. but most times I just go with the valet parking.

Used to be my favorite restaurant when visiting Indy. Waiter says…”You guys know what you want?” Great sales pitch. Then we wait an hour because they are really busy and the waiter brings me an incorrect order for my entree. I eat half of it and don’t say anything and just ask for a cup off black coffee. They changed thier coffee cups from regular size to very awkward Demi-tasse sized cups. The coffee is absolutely ice cold and I tell the waiter and he says….”I wondered about that…”I don’t mind paying full price for a good cup of coffee but paying double for a very awkward tiny Demi-tasse cup was the ultimate finish to a really bad experience.Very sorry to see the service levels and professionalism of this establishments dining room staff so diminished.

I had hoped not to have to right this review, but I am left with no choice. First, I want to say I have always really enjoyed my visits to Oceanaire. This is why I selected Oceanaire to host a business dinner for a tradeshow we were attending in January. We had 30 people in attendance. We preplanned the event with Oceanaire and had everything set up well in advance. First, on arrival we found getting drinks was very slow. The manager told us that their drink order system had gone down. Next, we did have our appetizers right away but our meals took nearly two hours to arrive. When they arrived, they were luke warm to cold depending on the selection. Some orders had their sides missing or in very small quantities. We had ordered an upgrade to additional lobster mac and cheese and it never arrived, we mentioned this and it was finally brought with the desserts later. As the end of the meal approached the wait staff notified me that we had not met our minimum total spend for the meal. We had already made a $1,500 deposit and the minimum was supposed to be and additional $3,000 more. I was distracted with our clients when given this notice so did not ask for the current total. The wait staff recommended making up the difference with togo bottles of wine. I approved of this thinking it would bring our total to the $4,500 amount we contracted. When I received the bill it was for over $6,000. Well above our contracted minimum. The togo bottles of wine was nearly $1,000 added to the bill. When we asked to speak to a manager again we were told that he had already gone home for the night and would have to come back tomorrow to talk to him. When we went back the next day to talk to him we asked for a portion of the bill to be refunded. We were told that because it was the next day he couldn't do anything and they would have to take it up with the regional manager. The next week we finally received a response from the event coordinator and were told that the Regional VP (Hal Heck) said that we would not receive any kind of refund because all food and drink were consumed. All the wine was taken home by our customers before we received the final bill that night, so we were unable to give it back. We tried reaching out directly to the Regional VP and never received a response. We also made inquiries through their corporate office and never received a response. We have finally exhausted every avenue to pursue any kind of correction to this experience. The Oceanaire Is one of my favorite restaurants in Indianapolis. Unfortunately, I ordered the shrimp and grits appetizer and was greatly disappointed that the shrimp were overcooked and underseasoned1. This dish is usually beautiful and stunning. It has depth of flavor creaminess, everything. However, there wasn't a good sear on the shrimp.They were slightly under seasoned, and they were very overcooked. I was greatly disappointed. I just hope that leaving this review helps to motivate chef to prepare the food in his/her usual stunning way.

We had incredible oysters, excellent soup, one of the best bisque soups we have had. Our entrées were absolutely amazing in every way, better fish than we have even had in coastal towns. We will absolutely be back and enjoy every time we go to the Oceanaire.

We had an amazing meal. I ordered the grilled mahi mahi; my wife ordered the whole dover sole piccata and my son had the sesame seed tuna. Appetizers include a jumbo shrimp cocktail and oysters. We had the sweet potato and that was amazing as well. Service was 5-star and we were impressed with attention to detail.

Service was excellent, they accommodated my kids very well. Food was outstanding, not a single dish went unfinished. Good atmosphere, extensive wine and bar options. Highly recommend this place, just be prepared to pay for the quality.

We made reservations here during business trip. This place is definitely worth the money. Absolutely great food and service. Our waiter gave us great suggestions and he was right about all of it. I will definitely visit again in the future.

Good place, delicious food, very nice waiters. The only thing that disappointed was about 40min wait to be seated, even with a reservation. It was however, on Valentines Day, so I understand, but then the food also took forever. They did give us a complimentary appetizer for the wait, however. So overall it was a good

Left a review from my business page about how i didnt have the best service ON MY BIRTHDAY which is ALSO Valentine’s Day and the owner responded and didnt even acknowledge it! Just said thanks gor coming! Not sure if I’ll return because of this. Im sure they probably don’t care because they have so many customers with great reviews but EVERY customer should be treated and served right!
