The waitresses were very busy but they were not busy to ignore me and was able to be seated pretty fast! I highly recommend the Ruben great sandwich! I wanted a big mug for my beer but they was out of mugs due to high volume but I got a nice dark beer in a big plastic cup...

This was my first visit to your restaurant. My server, Jennifer was excellent .She not only was friendly and quick, but she took the time to give me some history about Rathskellers.I was able to tell her how she made my first visit there very pleasant, and I wanted to tell you what a great employee you have there.I took the liberty of taking some pictures of this wonderful building.Thank you again Jennifer.I will be back soon

Traveled to Indianapolis with my wife for our anniversary and stopped by for a beer and dinner. I have to sadly walk away knowing I can't come back without traveling almost 8 hours, but I'd damn well almost do it. The food is phenomenal, with each dish offering something unique to enjoy, whether it's a deliciously sweet brown gravey or a savory mushroom sauce on schnitzel. Please do yourself a favor and try this place!!!Dietary restrictions: Ask for an allergen menu, and they have a separate sheet to explain each menu item. It'll be labeled for lactose and gluten restrictions!

I used to love the hot pretzels here, but they have gone downhill. Now they're like microwave frozen pretzels, and it shows :[ Their mustard is still killer, though. Their jalapeño chicken poppers are good, too. Not sure why the quality went down, maybe a change of ownership?

Good food and drink options. Service was good but busy, that was expected. Fun setting. Beer selection seems to reflect a smaller market for German styles. I'm happy for 3 Floyds that they're on tap, but I was dissappinted that the seasonal tap list was all American styles.A complementary pretzel to the table was fun! The horseradish mustard evacuated my sinuses, whoa.

I was excited to try this restaurant. I lived in Germany for several years and then near some heavily German influenced areas in Texas and love German food. However, this was nothing like I've had before. We ordered baked brie and artichoke dip to start. The brie was just a solid round of brie, not even warm served with stale bread and brown mushy grapes. The artichoke dip looked like it had been slopped out of a can and quickly warmed in the microwave. It was gross. We ordered all of our food and drinks at the same time yet our entrees took an unnecessary amount of time to come out. We got the mixed sausage plate and the schnitzel. The sausage was not great but not disgusting. The potato pancakes were dense, rubbery, and flavorless. The glazed carrots were slimy wet balls of carrot. The schnitzel was green for some reason and tasted like dry, old, school cafeteria lunch meat and the steak fries were cold. This food is some of the absolute worst I've ever had of any cuisine. I did not protest the food. It was all so bad that I realized that it is just a place I will never return to and not worth complaining.I understand a beer hall is loud and there are large groups, but they sat us in the dining room in a small back room with a group of about 15 with kids. They were all yelling to talk to each other and their waitress would come in and would speak so loudly that the entire room would get quiet so she could talk to them. My small party of 3 could not hear each other at all and that did not help the experience. The positives were that overall the staff was nice. The hostess and our waitress were nice. Unfortunately, I will never return and could never recommend this restaurant to anyone. I left with a dry mouth and upset stomach.

The food was good and the portions were good for the price. The service was just ok. It was a good looking place.

I had not been to the Rathskeller in years! It once was our go-to before a show at the Murat, and I plan to make it a habit again. Great, reasonably priced food and wine. Service was fantastic! Love the hot mustard.Vegetarian options: I had the Greek salad and it was delicious! Large enough to make a meal. (I had to have a big pretzel, too, of course!)
