This is a great spot. Coola space. Good drinks. Amazing food. The menu is small but the food is outstanding. Deviled Eggs FTW! Service is average.

Stopped in for drinks and dinner. Decided to get a few small plates and share them. The craft cocktails are as delicious as they are beautiful. The food was pretty good...ran into some issues with their homemade chicken nuggets. The first batch was absolutely stone cold in the center. Unfortunately, they seemed a bit understaffed, so I had to bring this to the bartender's attention. They apologized and made it right with a new order that was done right. :) If I went back, it would be for the drinks. Priced right and absolutely delicious.

Bar was actually pretty cool, the staff on the other hand are pretty slow.. simply ordering a beer will be at least 15 to 20 minutes long.. so plan accordingly. Food is not too bad, but maybe for the crowd little more simple options.. all in all, great bar but the owner needs to address the quickness of the service

A good quiet place to grab and drink and catch up with a friend. This place has culture to it and the the vibe is chill. It also has an old time feel to it. The drinks are great!

One of my favorites. I love the vibe but the best part about Thunderbird imo is the rotating menu. They have a totally eclectic bar vibe. You can get really creative drinks alongside highlighted classics (like a sidecar or an aviation). Or you can just get a Budweiser or Jack and coke if that's your vibe. The food menu also changes fairly regularly--they have some staples that always stick, like the mac and cheese (my fav). I've met some of my favorite people here and I can't think of a single time I've had a less than perfect experience.

I hadn't been into the Thunderbird in a while and swung thru prior to a show at HiFi. I love the atmosphere and interior. Handful of folks around the bar and others slowly trickling in on a friday early evening. I was immediately drawn to their bourbon selection and saw the Heaven Hill 17 that i'd been wanting to try. I asked for a cost heard $15... yep, i'll take one and maybe the rest of the bottle. $15 seemed too good to be true and when I confirmed, it was actually $50, which is more in line with my expectations. a-ok by me. It was delicious. Closed out my time there with a $7 shot and beer, great deal. Bartender was friendly, but certainly busy as she was the only one there. Good spot, will be back!

Really good old-fashioned. Sweet decor and awesome bartender! Come visit us sometime at the Scottish Thistle in Piqua, Ohio!

Great casual bar atmosphere. I love a place with open sliding windows in the summer, and fun drinks on the menu. Also, you can't beat a shot and a beer.

Thunderbird is a go to spot for me and my college friends! It is on the cheaper side and is a nice sit down bar. The staff is SUPEE friendly and always super helpful when it comes to questions about the food and drinks. The menu changes and is always good!

This is one of my favorite places in Indy. The food is great, the drinks are delicious! Southern comfort food with their own twist, I've never been disappointed!

I’d give 0 stars if I could. A couple friends and myself tried this place because it was the only restaurant in Fountain Square without a wait, but we now know why! First off, when our food came, my main entree (wings special) was missing. He didn’t even realize until I said so. I’ve been a server and it was obvious he forgot to put it in as part of the order. But I was patient, as I know how it is, but they rushed the cooking and preparing. Took about another 10 mins after that for my wings to arrive. I cut into one and it seemed a little raw. My friend asked if they were smoked and maybe that’s why the pinkish color, server said “yeah I think so”. The lighting in the place made it hard to tell, so I went ahead and nibbled a bit off. Luckily it was a very meatless wing so I didn’t get much. Started on the second one and it clearly was bloody and raw! We used our phone flashlights to look and were completely disgusted!! It is NOT OK to serve raw chicken to people!! We called server over, he took them back to the kitchen and even came back to tell us that the cook doesn’t like to admit when he messes food up. He said they’d take it off the bill, and I basically said I want my whole meal taken off. I ate my Mac n Cheese, and drank my $10 cocktail. They’re lucky I don’t report them to the board of health. Further, my friend had the $22 steak sandwich and ate half because it was pretty disgusting. I will never go back here and I will definitely NOT recommend to anyone! Gross.

Most of the time, it's the best cocktail bar in Indy. Every now and then, the regularly rotating drink menu misses the mark. As for food, the chicken sandwich isn't what it used to be but it's still very good. The rest of the menu is a overpriced. Nonetheless, the atmosphere and staff make the venue well worth a visit (and return visits).

Such a fun restaurant with a big bar and different seating options. They changed their menu since the last time I've been, but I highly recommend ordering their marg even though it's not on the menu anymore. Their fried chicken sandwich is also delicious - upgrade for curly fries from chips for only a $1. When it's nice enough out, they have big windows they open that you can sit and people watch.

The bar it's self is very cool and attracts the hipster crowd. It's for some but other may not not enjoy the crowd. More importantly the bartender was extremely slow and moved without any real sense of urgency. When we finally got our drinks they were horrible. I mean bad. We quickly left after being served. Not a great experience for me overall.

My husband and I ended up here late on a Wednesday night because other kitchens in the area closed at 9pm and we were looking for food at ~9:15. We are super glad we did. It's at the very southeast end of Virginia Avenue and isn't super flashy, so you may have walked right by and missed out on awesome drinks and even better food. I ordered one of their signature cocktails with brandy and apple flavor that was amazing. It has a fun, catchy name that I can't remember for the life of me. My husband got a brandy old fashioned which was just okay, nothing extravagant. They were operating on a semi-limited menu because of staffing shortages, but that didn't limit us in any way! My husband and I both ordered the fried chicken sandwich, which came with coleslaw, dill pickles, and and a sauce with amazing flavor. Best fried chicken sandwich that we've had. He got the curly fries and I got the mac n cheese. The mac n cheese was super creamy. Will definitely be back for drinks and be back to try more food off of their menu!
