wasabi on 82nd is a HIDDEN GEM. i have eaten here for 10+ years and they never disappoint. the food is delicious and always comes out quickly. the servers are kind and attentive (we had sisilia tonight and she was so sweet). if you’re an out of town guest or local sushi-lover, this place is a MUST TRY.

Great spot for lunch or a casual dinner. They have a nice wine/saki selection and the food is very fresh and flavorful. Love the sushi and they will make it to custom order if they don't have it on the menu. This is easily my favorite sushi place of all the sushi places I have been to in the city. It ends up being about $85 everytime my husband and I visit prior to tip.The green tea is delicious, we get it everytime. Yellowtail jalapeno roll is exceptionally delicious. I also love the avocado rolls and the cucumber rolls. My husband is also a fan of the red dragon roll. (I think that's the name of it) We only ever get sushi when we go so I can't say anything about anything else.Sometimes the servers take a bit to get to us but always delicious food and drinks. Highly recommend.

I had the Mistake roll and the Alaska roll. The Mistake roll was delicious! Alaska roll wasn’t my favorite but it tasted fresh so it has more to do with my preferences. The restaurant was very clean. Bathrooms were well maintained. Service was very kind however my server did have a heavy smell of cigarettes which gave me a bit of a headache. Overall I will definitely come back here!

The food is okay but the service….we’ve come to eat on a few occasions and the older server is so painfully rude. Tonight he could be heard screaming at the other employee in the kitchen. When we walked in, the sushi chef motioned us to sit in a booth. The server then has us move which would’ve been fine but it was communicated poorly. Then when I wanted to put our order in when he came for our drinks, he said we can’t cut the food line and that there were lots of take out orders ahead of us.

Wasabi on 82nd is without a doubt the best sushi spot in Indy! The sushi is fresh, the food is great, but the best part about this spot is the attentiveness of the staff. The wait staff is patient, helpful, and kind. If you are in the Castleton area for whatever reason, this place is worth the visit.

The old guy with the grey hair that works here is extremely RUDE!! If you don’t like your job just quit! Besides that they have phenomenal sushi! Wide array of sushi options to choose from. Prices aren’t bad as well.

This is THE FRESHEST seafood/sushi I have had in quite a long time. The service was courteous and prompt and I love that the restaurant is cozy…keeps from getting too loud on busy evenings. I had a lovely conversation with the chef while I awaited my takeout order, I will be patronizing this business for my sushi needs as my top choice going forward. Thank you for amazing fresh food and genuine caring service!

We went on a Wednesday evening and were maybe the only people in the restaurant, definitely the only ones in our area. Our server was fine. He was a bit abrupt and not overly friendly, though not rude. That would not have put me off by itself, nor would the empty restaurant. The reason I took off a couple stars is that I ordered a large warm sake, and when it came, it had a sour aroma that was immediately noticeable and unpleasant. I tasted it, and it had a distinct vinegar sourness. I tried to get past it, but I could not. The server made a suggestion and brought an alternative sake out, and it was good. I think they even removed the charge for my drink from our bill, which was unnecessary and appreciated. But the server smelled the sake and indicated that it smelled fine to him, which to me indicated that this is probably an ongoing issue and he is just used to it/thinks it is supposed to smell and tate that way. My guess is they have a sake warmer that has gotten infected with acetobacter and is turning the sake they put into it into vinegar. For a Japanese restaurant, this is a bit unforgivable, in my opinion. There were also bits of cork in my wife's wine glass. And considering how empty the restaurant was, we dealt with pretty long waits (appetizer, drinks, the check, etc.) And again, the service was not especially friendly.I will say that the sushi we ordered was really good. Very fresh ingredients, from the fish to the avocado, and great flavors. The rice could have held together a bit better, and the maki felt a bit loosely rolled to me, but the flavors were spot on, and that's what we cared most about.I have been here before, and I think I just prefer this place for carry-out. I've never been super impressed with my dine-in experiences.

The sushi was wonderful and the hibachi salmon wasn't overloaded with sauce. Their menu note about a 'huge' portion of fried rice is misleading. It's a generous portion but very much in keeping with the entree size.

The service was incredibly slow. The waiter gave us 1 menu for 3 people and when my friend asked him to come back for his drink order he said ‘no I’ll wait’ and then impatiently started listing off the different kind of drinks they had. The fried rice was absolutely disgusting and the worst I have had. My partner and I had the sushi and both of us have been sick all weekend. There are much better sushi places in the city that won’t make you sick and have much better staff.

First time visitor but definitely not last. A wide variety of choices- I had a bowl which was tasty and filling. If you want lunch- be sure to order before 2:30 because there’s no flexibility in timing
