I recommend if you are in Laporte try to stop bye and see them and eat some good down home cooking you won't walk away unhappy and pay good prices and get a lot of food home cooked.

Pretty typical greasy-spoon kinda place.The prices are good… $6 for an omelette.The service was great.. fast, efficient.The atmosphere was pretty typical for small town restaurants… regulars coming and going, simple tables in a quirky dining room.My only complaint was, the eggs seemed undercooked. They were done, barely. Had we not been in a hurry, we probably would have sent them back. Maybe it’s a regional taste thing.

This place has the best home cooked food. If I am ever in town and it's breakfast time, this is where I go. The building is small, but the atmosphere is very welcoming. I know it sounds corny, but the food does taste like it was made with love.

This is the second time we've stopped here while traveling through. The food is so good. The pepper gravy on "Mom's Mess" (an egg and potato scramble) was above average. Both times the one waitress running the place was excellent and there was a different waitress each time. Don't let the building discourage you. The food is worth the visit.

That little home town breakfast diner!!! Mama's meat mess is the ultimate go to!!! The haystack being #2! I'm assuming you can't go wrong with anything you order there!! Great food, great servers, great place!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Mom’s cafe is a wonderful spot to stop if you want a quick, homemade meal for an incredibly reasonable price. The breakfast omelette was delicious, filling and had plenty of toppings. The biscuits and gravy were hearty. The staff were also very accommodating and friendly. All around lovely food and cozy atmosphere.
