The food was outstanding. We had the beef and vegetable soup. It was loaded with meat and vegetables. The pasta, fish and chips, and roast on toast was amazing. We had the chocolate marquis cake for dessert and that was delicious. Our server was super fast and checked on us often. We also loved eating in the house; the ambiance is perfect. We will be back!

It's a really neat place to visit! The wait staff was lovely and the food was good. They had lots of missing items on the menu and it took a long time to get the food. It may have just been an “off” night. Reasonable prices.

Overall, the food was really good. There were four of us and we each tried a different dish. The chicken pot pie was absolutely delicious, and the fish and chips and Roast on Toast we also highly rated. We ordered coffee, and it came out cold, so they made another pot for us. Service was a bit slow, however, our server was very nice and accommodating.

The overall experience was just okay! It's a neat building but the dining experience wasn't anything to come back for. A lot of things like the chicken and roast beef were out. The drinks and food took a long time to get to us and the food wasn't very flavorful. The waitress was pretty good. The place was a little chilly... I left my coat on.

Waited over an hour with not even appetizers. They waited that entire time to say that multiple cooks called off on Valentine's Day. Left after an hour and a half with no food and a screaming toddler because he was so hungry. Bad experience, and a ruined Valentine's Day lunch.

All the food was very good, however, many of the dishes we wanted to order was out. Also, a couple of items ordered never made it to the table. But I would come back again - its a cool house/mansion and the food we got was well prepared.

This was a really cool venue with good food and excellent service. I will say it was a cold day so it was chilly even inside which I understand but I was cold throughout the meal. Everyone enjoyed their food although both my husband and I had the grits and both found them to be dry unfortunately. Everything else was excellent. I would go again but when it is warmer weather out so it is not so cold in the house.

We had a table in front of the bay window which provided a great view. The only drawback there was the draftiness of the windows. However, I would not have changed it. The work they've done to keep up the house is fantastic. We did a self tour and thoroughly enjoyed getting to walk through the house - including the upstairs - at our own pace. And of course the food didn't disappoint. I had the sirloin steak and my wife had one of the pasta dishes. We each had a drink as well and ordered the chocolate cake for dessert. It was all great. Staff was phenomenal in service and giving info on the history of the house. We'll go again!

Our fireplace wasn't “lit” (front room, just inside entrance). Other rooms had votive candles flickering. A few space heaters near the tables would be appreciated during the colder months. We were rather chilly, though the delicious food distracted us from that. Everything else was wonderful!

Wonderful place for lunch with friends. Ambience is great, the food delicious and service very good. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, not at all rushed. We always enjoy our meal!

We did not have a good experience, unfortunately. The building is definitely interesting but we were seated right next to the bar with a huge group and couldn't even hear each other. After protesting a helpful server found a better seat for us. But the chicken pot pie was really bad that we couldn't finish it. Similarly beef wellington bites were not good at all. Pot roast was okay but the best things were cole slaw and fries, which just tells you that the food is not good. You can go to see the house but I won't be returning.

They had run out of ribeye by 6 pm on a Saturday evening. The waitress really tried to push the “breakfast sandwich” as an entree replacement for the ribeye. Two of the salmon dishes were WAY over done. The salmon was crispy and extremely dry. The bourbon menu was very basic with few higher end bourbons. The food clearly does not match the ambience of the house. Very disappointing for sure.

The staff was exceptional. Ambience was nice and cozy. We enjoyed learning about the mansion, its history and linkage to the surrounding area. The food was just OK. Seemed like it was served just slightly more than room temperature. Overall the seasoning was lacking. I'd be willing to give the place another shot.

Our waitress was very attentive and the food was good. It took forever to get our food. We were at the restaurant for 2 hours, despite appearing to have plenty of staff to serve the number of diners there. We were left wondering what was going on in the kitchen.
