I gave a 20% tip, but was scolded by the waiter and told not to come again next time. We are all compatriots and I speak Mandarin. At 8pm on January 13th, two friends and I came in for dinner. No one greeted us when we walked in. I told a male waiter that we could order food, but he ignored us after calling three times. , he kept looking down on us when we were ordering, and asked us if it was our first time here. We answered yes, and he said we had to tip when dining in. I felt like he thought it was our first time in the United States, and I said no problem, of course. Tip is required. I also know that American waiters rely on tips. I understand it very well. Halfway through the meal, the waiter gave us the bill and asked us to pay. It doesn't matter. The most annoying thing was that when I told the waiter that he had already added a 20% tip to the bill, he even scolded me and told me not to go there again next time. And from the time I walked in to the time I walked out, I never heard a word of thank you. You can do this to me if I didn't tip. The key is that I tipped 20%, which I can't accept. If you're the boss, you're doing great, if you're not, you're doing great. If fellow humans hurting each other makes you happy, you do it. I wish you a bright future.

The place is beautiful. We went after a long day of travel midday and the place was pretty empty. The restaurant itself is gorgeous and the food is amazing!! Service was super fast too. Highly recommend for a cold west Lafayette

Got the szechuan chicken, which was great. Food was tasty, slightly spicy, and had crisp vegetables. I would dine here again! I see some people complaining about a mandatory tip, but that wasn’t on my bill. I do know they charge a service fee for take-out, which most restaurants charge.

We've ordered here twice, but we're never going back. The first time we ordered takeout, it was pricey but delicious. So tonight we decided to try again... and it was a disaster. Our food was over an hour and a half late. My husband asked again and again when the food would be ready, and the staff at the front door kept stalling. This went on for over 45 minutes. When my husband asked to cancel the order and get refunded, even more excuses - "but your order is almost ready" "I don't know how to refund" "the order is ready now." This went on for another 15 minutes until they brought out order out. The staff even said "why are blaming me, this is not my fault." No accountability for their service. When we got home, the food tasted terrible. We didn't eat half of it cause it tasted really sweet. They said they only had one cook that night and the cooking was clearly rushed. But they could have made this right. We won't return especially after the experience of getting the run around by the staff.

Ordered via Uber Eats for sick daughter. Won Ton soup and Hot & Sour soups. She loved them. Helped her cold. Speedy delivery, too. Thanks!!

Came in at 9:13 pm with one other person. Waiter made it clear he was annoyed, checked the time, asked if we'd be done in half an hour. The whole time he was sloppy and monotone, hovered around trying to pressure us to be quick. There was no one else there. Food was average but BAD SERVICE.

The male waiter is racist. He is Chinese but discriminates against Chinese students. The treatments he gave to us are: prioritize servicing of English speakers, refuse to answer questions, leave in the middle of ordering, ignore our requests, and mandatory tips (as shown in other posts). Please help them change by not going to the restaurant.

Loved the authentic food and the experience. They need more of these types of authentic Chinese restaurants in Indianapolis. Minus a star for food because the pork ribs were a bit tough, if they simmered/steamed it a bit longer it would have come out more tender. No complaints about the fish soup or the dry pot with fatty beef, both were amazing. Be warned that they charge an automatic service fee/gratuity of 18% and also add a convenience fee for using a credit card, with tax that was an extra 25% of the bill. The food was definitely good enough that I would want to go back the next time I am nearby in West Lafayette.

The food here was great. Hot and fresh, plus generous servings. 4 of us shared 3 dishes which was plenty. The atmosphere was quiet but almost seemed a little empty. The service was overall kind and helpful, though sometimes not readily available.Vegetarian options: They had a wide variety of vegetable only dishes on the menu.
