Unfortunately the food doesn't match the iconic looks. I was so excited when I saw the jolly fat man out front and the classic design of the building that I whipped a hard left in heavy traffic to go inside. Burger was bad and I only ate half. Staff was friendly and engaging, and my onion rings were good - I think if you get the frozen/fried stuff it will be fine, but the made-to-order burger was dry, unseasoned, and didn't even fit the bun it was served on. There are so many diner / drive-thru gems in NW Indiana - this could be one of them, but they have a lot of work to do.

There was Hair in my sandwich. They skimp on everything you order. Pepsi filled 3/4 of the way and paid extra for fries but they only filled have the tiny bag

I've eaten here for years but more recently the food quality seems worse. The fries are good but need to be served fresh because they are thin and cool really quick. My last 2 visits have been disappointing cold fries both visits and cold sandwiches. Both visits only 2 people in store.

Girl at the counter very rude when trying to order. Hot dog bun was so hard and stale. I thought it was toasted. My mother and daughter both ordered gyros. Both had extra crispy meat. And thats being nice! Better places in the area stay clear of here. Will be my first and last time!
