It's ok. Just ok I guess. Which is so so, super sad. Look at the potential of this gorgeous property. It's a amazing. A place like this could revitalize the area. Drinks were ok; nothing amazing. I'm reading my review and it sounds so 'meh.' Fitting.

My parents would go to the Broadway in the sixties and there was a kids room where we would play while they went yo the bar. I came back to stay as an adult and all the staff left and locked us in the hotel except there was people running up and down the hall all night. We had to climb out a window to leave in the morning as we was locked in, we were the only people staying there thru the night.....it's haunted. There wasn't anybody else there but we heard people in the hall all night screaming. I worked right around the corner at A1 pizza for Ralph Caine in the 70s and I lived on 4th street. You couldn't pay me to stay there again.

A local treasure. The bar has a colorful background including bullet holes interestingly a story to look into. The Historic Broadway Hotel is a must whether your a tourist or local resident.

Checked website today before driving an hour plus and site noted open hours and menu. Upon arrival we found sign on door, closed for remodel. We stopped by in April and same sign posted. The owner/management should update the website as closed. Have always enjoyed my prior visits when Broadway was open and hope it returns to operation soon.

We stopped in here for dinner during our stay at the Clifty Inn. When we arrived the place was packed as the Bengals were playing their playoff game and there was a large party in one of the rooms. Our waiter Duey (Semper Fi!) was amazing. He provided some of the best service we've had even though he was swamped! He did an excellent job and the food was amazing huge prtions for the price. We will definitely be back!

Went to the Broadway Hotel and Tavern last night for the first time, It was a great experience from beginning to end. Hostess greeted us right away and was friendly. Tory was our server and came to our table immediately. She introduced herself and was very pleasant. Drinks came quick and so did the appetizer (jalapeno poppers). We asked for recommendations for dinner...I was debating between the NY strip and the ribeye and my husband was deciding between the NY strip and ribs. We went with her recommendations and they were spot on!! The ribeye and brussel sprouts were delicious and the ribs had a TON of meat on them and were very tasty. Tory was helpful, kind and efficient. We were so stuffed, we actually had to pass on her recommendation for the peanut butter pie for dessert...but maybe next time! Thanks, Tory for making our first experience at The Broadway a great one!!

The website says they are open on Sunday's, we drove an hour just to have lunch here and they are closed. Many people were trying stop and eat here and looked confused that they were closed.

Stood in the entryway for 15 minutes before anyone even spoke to us. When someone did greet us it was with a response of "it will be another 10 minutes before we can seat you." Waited another 15 minutes before walking out and leaving because NO ONE ever came back to seat us. Worst experience ever! RUDE! Doesn't matter if the food is good if you never get to eat it

We visited this tavern for dinner on the evening of October 30. Two of us ordered the Brisket sandwich. It was horrible. One end of the meat could not even be bitten off. The other was about as tough as shoe leather once a piece was bitten off. We told our waitress that it was not edible, and her response was "I'm sorry". No offer to replace it, no adjustment of the bill, nothing.I wouldn't go there again if they were the only restaurant in town.

This tavern right in the heart of historic Madison offers a modern menu in a historic setting. There was no waiting to be seated when our party of four arrived for lunch on a Saturday. Our server was friendly, prompt, & efficient. All of our food choices were fresh & tasty.

The travel guide described the Broadway hotel Tavern restaurant as "fine dining" with aged steaks and seafood. We had already eaten at Red (fabulous) so we thought we'd go here. BIG MISTAKE. Husband ordered the New York Strip. Expensive, right? It was terrible--tough and tasteless. Seemed like it had just been pan fried rather than grilled. Grey, boot leather. I ordered the special--"BBQ pork tenderloin." So I'm thinking the meat had been BBQ'd, maybe smoked or cooked a long time with seasonings. No, it had simply been pan cooked and coated in BBQ sauce. Like the steak, it was tough and tasteless. The cost of this meal, plus one beer, was the same as at Red. So not worth it. They need to get their act together. Never going back.

We stopped in for a beer and to take a look at the menu. Decided to give the food a try. I had the Reuben and fries - both were excellent. Our server was excellent. The only negative...another individual behind the bar decided to share her medical history with one of the other local patrons. Needless to say, it wasn't the best lunch conversation! We love sitting at the bar but, perhaps, we'll opt for a dining room table the next time.
