I have been looking for an African food restaurant, yesterday I found this place and I went in today to try out the food. I got jollof rice, okra soup and egusi soup the food was so tasty everything was spiced to perfection!!! The food wasn’t too peppery it was just the perfect amount of spice and the owner is nice, food was out by the promised time and packaged really nice. Shes gained a customer and now I have a new restaurant. I hope to try pepper soup next time cause I really wanted that a lot. Thank you for the service. I had eaten the food and forgot to take pictures before lol that’s how good the food was!!!

Definitely not what I expected but so worth it! If you are in the Merrillville area and have a craving for an African dish go and support this small business owned by a wonderful woman. I ordered the Egusi with goat meat/pounded yams, Fried Plantain and an extra piece of Whiting fish and all of it was delicious. Ms Rookz did not disappoint and I will be back to try more dishes. The website allows you to pay with a credit card but cash or debit is a better option.

Beat African food in NWI.. and she’s down the street from me. I love the egusi with goat and fufu! The egusi soap serving isn’t much compared to other places I’ve gone too but I order extra egusi to match! I’m addicted! . If you in the Merrillville area and want some Egusi, come here! It’s delicious!

Had the meat pie and it was buttery and amazing definitely coming back!!!!
We were on a road trip and passing through the area, we called the chef/owner when we were about an hour away and she had everything ready by the time we passed through. Not only is the food AMAZING, but the owner was so great! The food had so much flavor - we are so sad we live far away or we would eat there very often!! You must try this place!

Wow! Our minds were blown - we said this had to be the best food we have ever gotten from a restaurant. 11/10 recommend!! We got the Egusi with Fish and Fufu and the Jollof with chicken. The chef/owner was so sweet which is just another reason to support! We are from out of town, but if we lived close, this would be a restaurant we order from weekly!!
