One of the Mexican places that I've been to in NW Indiana. The menu is large and contains just about everything you could want, the prices are very fair for the very large portion sizes, the chips that you get are very warm and fresh and everything can be summed up in one word AUTHENTIC!

Their hard shell tacos are delicious! The shells are hard to order. So good. The servers are so nice. Love this place.
We haven't been here for a while and I forgot how good it could be. Wonderful salsa the guac was very good. Who could complain about warm tortilla chips? Steak tacos were really good as were the beans and rice. If you like spicy try the appetizer Fundo. Chorizo and tons of cheese! I was told the bean burrito was filling .Hope it doesn't take us as long to revisit.

The first time going to El Cajete was a little disappointing. I had heard such great reviews. The food was ok, but I didn't care for the plastic silverware. Our server brought me the wrong food and then questioned me on my order. My friend ordered the Nacho Surpreme for their meal and ran out of chips before the toppings. Our server didn't check on us, but once. I'm not sure I'll return.

Had a taste for Mexican food and have wanted to try El Cajete for a while now. Glad I did! We were seated promptly and service was quick, friendly and efficient. Housemade chips and salsa were brought with menus and were fresh and tasty. Entrees are authentic and some of the best MC has to offer. Pork tacos were excellent...shredded pork in a nice red sauce on fresh corn tortillas. Restaurant interior was clean but could stand a refresh however, did not affect overall experience. Gotta give El Cajete a try.

Food was authentic, at least what I had. Except for the rice I may be mistaken but I swear it was that uncle Ben's steamed rice with peas and carrots it absolutely was not Spanish. All and all it was delicious.
