This place is inexpensive and the food and ambience are so great! Even the bourbon onion rings you can bite and not pull the whole onion out! Lol the elote is great (although I'd do just a bit less cheese) The royale with cheese smash burger is mustard crusted and tastes like an old school, juicy cheeseburger should. ! Oh and Jones sodas on the fountain. They have a regular burger feature as well that we can't wait to try! Definitely with your hard earned money!

I ordered the chicken sandwich and the street corn. The chicken sandwich was pretty good but for the most part nothing about it really stood out. The street corn was actually pretty good and you get a good amount for the price. Service was really good.

I picked up a to go order so I can't say much about the atmosphere, but it seemed like a nice place to have a burger when I walked in. I got the Royale Melt with onion rings on the side. VERY good. I will be back.

Solid neighborhood joint with delicious and juicy burgers! Tables accommodating groups of 4 are towards the front. For larger gatherings, long communal high top tables are in the back.Pricing as of July 2023 is mid range with most burgers averaging around $9.50-12 (excluding tax). Sides and drinks are purchased ala carte. Weather permitting, patio seating is available in the front and back of the restaurant. Free public parking on the streets is always a plus.

With a name, Royals with Cheese, how could I not try it?!Bottom line great burger and really good fries. You know fries are good when you can delight in eating them without ketchup.Anyway, I had to take a star off mainly because of the sticky tables! They weren't dirty, it's just that they used the wrong finish...that and the music, while generally okay, got into some mediocre christian rock; A little off the mark in the irreverent atmosphere they have cultivated. All in all, I would definitely be back if I wasn't passing through...Also, I forgot to mention that the waitstaff was friendly and efficient; Well done!

In the mood for a good burger, my friend and I decided to check out Royale, a casual joint with an interesting atmosphere with books on shelves. We decided to split the meal, forever wanting good stuff but trying to eat less. We shared the burger, onion rings and street corn. You order at the counter then they bring the food to your table. The burger was solid but not amazing. The proportion of bread to burger was a little lopsided. The onion rings were decent but got cold fast. The street corn...a bit too much Mayo so trying to scrape that aside. Cheap meal for $20 total but not sure I'd race back for any of the items.
Very good burgers & Homeade fries. A very cool atmosphere. Only thing I wish is that you could hear bobs burgers playing since it's on a projector. But there was music playing over it. Looking forward to trying more of their unique burgers

Modest decor, moderately simple food, simple fries. That's what I love about this place. The burger is awesome. Many different toppings, but it doesn't claim to be haut cuisine. Highly recommended. I'm a burger and taco snob that finds gimmicky venues concentrate on the gimmick not the food. The food is definitely the focus here.

Y'all gottttta go here!!!!! Yum Yum!I had a tummy ache and I got dinner with my mans. I saw the burgers when we picked them up and they looked incredible , but sadly since my tummy was aching I had to put it in the fridge. I was worried it would go soggy or not taste good having to warm it up via microwave. I was wrong!!!!!!! IT WAS STILL DELICIOUS!!!As a vegetarian I have had my fair share of impossible burgers..... yours is entirely top 5!!!! It's insanely good! The meats flavor. The bun. They supplied plenty of toppings. We got the "ghetto" fries (hate the name but love the fries.) Yummy yummy yummy I WILL be back you just wait!

Out Christmas shopping in Michigan City and needed a bite before heading home.Our most recent 'usual' place Fiddlehead is closed on Tuesdays so we hit the Yelp app and found Royale with cheese.Fairly no frills decor but clean, not crowded on a Tuesday at least.Had burgers very good, had sides of sweet potato fries and fried green beans very good and quite a lot of them. Prices were very reasonable.Will definitely return
