My daughter and I stopped in for our first time on our way to see a show in a neighboring town. We were amazed at how good the food was. We started with an appetizer of very good homemade pie followed up by the best buttermilk pancakes I have ever had.

This is one of the greatest little restaurants you'll ever find! If you want good food and an affordable price this is the place to stop in. The chicken is better than any chicken out of Frankenmuth Michigan, he pie as the wife said was "to die for" and their soups are amazing. If you're passing through this is the place to eat !The staff is awesome, kind and friendly a throwback to the old days when people were nice. Don't miss your opportunity to try an American classic, will definitely return time and time again. God bless your little restaurant.

Corned beef hash was a little browned on the outside but otherwise complete mush.On a previous visit my pancakes were semi raw at the center.

We always go to this little restaurant when we come out to Shipshewana area. They have good food, friendly service, and is most always pleasant to eat there.Parking: There is limited on street parking. Then people have to go over a block to use the town parking lot.Kid-friendliness: We see kids in there each time we visit.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp into the restaurant, but the bathrooms are upstairs...so inaccessible for wheelchairs or those with walking difficulties.

A working person's classic diner, spot-on diner food and excellent pies. A local haunt.Wheelchair accessibility: A ramp for wheelchairs but probably not the bathroom, which is up a narrow stairway. Also, it's mostly booths with static benches. Fairly narrow aisles. So possible, but far from great access

I had a very nice early dinner here one evening, and the food was great. Both the flavor and the prices were wonderful. I had the chicken fried steak, and that came with two sides (I chose broccoli cheese soup and mashed potatoes). It was all very flavorful, and the soup really stood out to me as one of the best versions of that flavor I’ve ever had. I also got apricot pie for dessert. The staff was very friendly and attentive, and the whole place felt nice and homey. It may be a bit old fashioned, but that really works here. Sometimes nothing needs to change. I’d definitely recommend Village Inn for a nice casual meal.

Several establishments were recommended when we arrived in Indiana and this was one. Seriously I could have gone without but I'm willing to try when recommended. The restaurant needs some serious modifications to the decor. With that being said, the food is as lackluster and extremely salty in my and the spouse's opinion. I choose the Manhattan which I had at another establishment that was fantastic. This one, not so. The mashed potatoes were bland but real tasting but the gravy tasted as though it was canned and loaded with salt; then there's the meat, not tender at all; pulled stringy and dry. It was a disappointment compared to my first sandwich. Service was good.
