Breakfast not included, and no pool. When I asked if they had any free coffee in the lobby I was told there's a coffee maker in my room. Avocado toast here- $13!!! ?

We just returned from a weekend at Notre Dame for the USC game. I made reservations way in advance with no cancellation for my husband and I, and another room for my daughter and her husband. We arrived in South Bend at 1:30 and went directly to the hotel to check in. We were told that the rooms were not cleaned yet, but that we could check in as long as we gave a credit card for incidentals. We told them we wanted to make sure there were no issues with us not having a room since we knew we would not be getting back until really late since this was a night game. The woman at the desk and the other woman who seemed to be in charge of housekeeping both said not to worry and that we could head out and our room would be there. When we returned after the game, we were told the hotel was overbooked and that they gave our room away!! We paid for a non cancelable room, so they charged us over $500 for each room since this was a very busy weekend. We checked in earlier, and they still did this! After a very long day and night, they moved us to the Springhill Suites. The rooms were not at all comparable to the Courtyard, and the room we had at Springhill Suites had a stained mattress on the pull out sofa, and had crumbs in the pull out bed. Just so disappointing. My husband talked to the manager and she said it was something to do with their computer system, but this is no way to treat people. They would have taken our money, and then made money on the room that was ours that they gave to someone else. We are Marriott Rewards members as well, and could not believe this. Stay away from this hotel!! After my husband complained to the manager, they did agree to pay for our stay at the other hotel, but this was horrible.

We stayed here on the way back from vacation. Easy to get off of I-80 and find this Courtyard by Marriott. Clean enough and newish. They have a restaurant of sorts, so that means no free breakfast. We didn't try the restaurant since there is an Outback Steakhouse nearby. Service was fine.

The thing about a hotel is while your stay is taking place do they provide you with the service you need if something goes wrong. These people here went out of their way to make sure the problem I had was solved Barb was a great night manager and did her best. There are nearest several great breakfast place which also is a plus. Like I said I would recommend this place because of the commitment to the staff to solve a problem you have and go out of their way to do it.

First of all, this hotel is adequate if you need this location or hotel brand. I would stay here again if other options not available. That being said, here are my observations (and for the record I am not typically a “negative reviewer so please understand these are fresh organic comments) •hotel seems in need some sprucing up. Smells stale and poorly ventilated •the pillows are terrible— so soft that it’s like you don’t even have one Bring your own or fold in half to save your spine •1 elevator. Very slow •sparse breakfast continental style. Must overpay at counter for any substantive nourishment •Pepsi products only •A/C unit is virtually silent and pushes no air out even in high setting which worsens the stale feel •staff very nice and lobby is small but clean. Stay at the Spring Hill Suites next door. Much nicer hotel

This hotel was nice with updates and nice rooms. We had very helpful staff and the service was stellar. It was close to where we had to be, so it was very convenient for our team who was traveling as a group.
