Mac’s Hideaway, is the Cheers of New Albany, IN. You walk in enough, everyone knows your name. Bartender’s are attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Good mix of entertainment throughout the week, from bands, trivia, and karaoke. Food always hits the spot, especially the fish and shrimp! If you haven’t checked them out, you should!

Came here for the first time on a Saturday night. It was nice and chill, not too many people there. LOTS of bar games, (arcades, pool, darts, shuffleboard, etc) Only 1 bartender and 1 cook so drinks and food were a little slow but that’s ok. Food came out and tasted really good for a dive bar pub grub. Even the side salad was really good. Prices were good and fair as well. The only real drawback were the mix drinks; I’m not sure if maybe the bartender was new or maybe my accent was a bit too strong, but I’ve ordered a “whiskey sour” from hundreds of different bars and no matter if they used the freshest ingredients with the most expensive whiskey or the cheapest Kroger sour mix and well whiskey they all taste like a whiskey sour, except the one I got here. it tasted like watered down Mello Yello mixed with like, Crown Royal maybe? liquor is liquor but this is one of maybe 3 times I’ve ever left a drink out and just ordered something else from a bottle. Everything else was great; just not sure what’s up with that.Parking: Small number of spots up front, but a bunch behind the building.

Ordered via door dashI Ordered the large fish plate. This included 2 LARGE Thick peices of fish. Great flavor and arrived crispy and fresh. Fries which were also cooked well and crispy. I requested extra lemon which they provided. They also included plenty of sauce. As a first time customer, this food was great. And I'll definitely order again. Food was packaged well. And portions were great. Wasn't a huge fan of coleslaw but that was due to personal preference. Hush puppies were really good too. Not to big. Overall meal was amazing and could easily feed 2. Price was definitely reasonable for portion.

My last review for 2023. It has not been a good year for me and reviews. My wife and I received a gift here, and it was delicious. While most know Mac has a bar, it does have a limited menu and a restaurant for the family. There isn't much on the menu, and if you're coming for something more than good bar food, then you may be disappointed. When we went there weren't much many people there. We were waited upon as soon as we sat down. She was a very nice and attentive server. My wife and I both had hamburgers. Let me just say it was a big hamburger! I could barely get my mouth over it to take a bite! I had a cheeseburger with pepper jack cheese. My wife had the mushroom and Swiss. What is great about the hamburgers is that it comes dressed and the fries are with the price! These burgers are big and better than any fast food place and for the price a better deal. The buns were toasted! I love it when a burger has a toasted bun. We will be back and try more of the menu!
We love this place. Danielle & Dan are both great people. We have NEVER had a bad meal here. The service great. They have the best Fish Sandwich around here. If you haven’t tried it, you should.

Been here a few times now. Last time I got the food I loved it, got food again and their food is great every time I’ve had it. Great prices, great service, and plenty to do here. Wish there was more opportunity for dancing but maybe I just went on a night they didn’t have it. Love this
