“Pulled up to grab a bite and realized it was 5 minutes until they closed, not wanting to be those customers we went to walk back to the car when the owner popped out and told us to come on in. We sat ourselves, and had service immediately. Drinks were brought out right after, placed our food order and within 10-15 minutes it was on our table. Service was absolutely amazing, will 100% be back again!“
“This was our first time at the EAST HAVEN tavern. The last night of summer weather, was perfect. ADAM was our server & HE IS TERRIFIC! Adam was fun, entertaining, friendly & had us laughing throughout the night! He made our time there, WONDERFUL !!! He was on top of everything the whole evening!!!!!! We stayed about 2.5 hours. Their patio & deck area is very relaxed & cozy ! The food was EXCELLENT! KUDOS TO THE COOKS ! I had the East Haven burger, my wife had the Bleu cheese burger. We had fries, coleslaw & macaroni salad. The garlic mushrooms were a great start to the experience! The was a lady server, don't know her name, who stopped by to check on us during the night, several times as well. !! GREAT SERVERS, GREAT COOKS, GREAT ATMOSPHERE ! WE WILL BE GOING BACK !!!“
“Well I kind of go there frequently usually once or twice a week. I see these reviews of how badly the owner treats his staff and from the customer stand point I don’t see it.A lot of negative reviews and it’s a shame. Every place will have a bad day and if you happened to hit that day and never return it’s too bad. Like I said I go there often yes sometimes they are out of something but their menu is so good any other choice will be amazing. With the economy the way it is you can’t have bulk foods just in case one week everybody wants for example chili. With inflation it’s just not good business sense to throw away food every week. I think most of the complainers are disgruntled employees who would rather look at their phones than work or just show up whenever it’s convenient. Today’s workers suck. The ones they have on staff are professional and courteous and knowledgeable. I would recommend the burgers the pizza wings sandwiches basically the whole menu. So if they happened to be out of a veggie burger with hummus take your blue haired all about yourself and go graze in the parking lot“
“Great service, good food. If you are in New Haven, I would recommend it. Restaurant with a separate bar area. Little outdoor area in nice weather.Parking: Abundant parking. As far as the eye can see.Kid-friendliness: Family restaurant. Clean well kept.Wheelchair accessibility: There is plenty of handicap parking and wheelchair accessible curb.“
“I'd heard this is the best pizza in New Haven, so I decided to give it a try for lunch today. When I called in my order the gentle man that took my order was really nice and welcoming and patient being this would be my first order. My order was ready at the time I was told it would be and again the staff was even more friendly in person. When I picked up the box it was heavier than I thought it should be for a medium pizza. When I made it home and opened the box, this pizza had more toppings than I have ever seen on a pizza and it was delicious! I will certainly be back again. The only thing for me is the cigarette smoke makes the place smell bad, but I can definitely deal with that long enough to carry out a delicious pizza.“
“We were driving through New Haven and didn't want to wait another half hour to get home and eat, so we stopped in here. I got a pork tenderloin sandwich (a normal sized one not a Hoosier sized one for those of you who know what I mean. It tasted wonderful. I told my husband it tasted like it was breaded on the premises. (Maybe...maybe not...but it tasted like it.) He got a cheeseburger and fries. He was happy with both. I would definitely come back again.“
“I am a newbie to R&H. My family introduced me to the food here, and I can say I have never been disappointed. The staff is always very friendly and attentive. The menu offers a variety of dishes to try, but it is not so extensive that you get overwhelmed by the choices. Highly recommended!Kid-friendliness: One of my grandsons favorites.“
“Great service staff. Enjoyed The Carnival sandwich. Piled deep in toasted French bread with a perfectly spiced sauce. The cole slaw was creamy and just OK. Baked beans were lacking in any kind flavor outside of a can. Chicken tenders were large and plentiful with a homemade batter. Onion rings have a delicious homemade breading as well. Will definitely return.“
“I haven't been there for a long time, and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience, I had grilled chicken chef salad and my friend ordered the pork chop dinner, both were made to perfection, the wait staff were very attentive. The price was very reasonable, when I go the next time if my experience is as good I will give it a five star.“
“On our way home to Chicago from our week-long visit to Columbus, Ohio, my wife and I decided to stop in Fort Wayne, Indiana, for a lunch break. It's a 5 1/2-hour drive and Fort Wayne is at the midway point. Hence, a good place for a rest stop and refresher. I chose to stop at Don Hall's Gas House & The Deck, the top-rated restaurant in town that is open for lunch. Located at 306 East Superior Street, the former 19th century gas plant on the banks of the Maumee River offers a sleek atmosphere for steaks and seafood with brick walls, wood floors, high ceiling, floor-to-ceiling windows, leather booths, a bar and a riverbank patio. Open from 11 to 10 Monday through Thursday, 11 to 11 on Friday and Saturday and 11 to 9 on Sunday, it is just what the doctor ordered. And who would have thought that something called The Chicago Burger would be the best-selling item on the menu? We started with bowls of New Orleans gumbo. My wife indulged in a Patty Melt on grilled rye bread with American and Swiss cheese, pickles, onion and 1,000 Island dressing. I couldn't resist The Chicago Burger on a toasted onion roll with grilled onions, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and pickles. With French fries and coleslaw for the both of us. It pays to do research on restaurants and hotels while traveling. Or we might have missed Don Hall's Gas House.“
“I think waitress was new? However she was nice. Food okay, pork special was dry. Main problem water was very bad (wife and I are not pop drinkers) waitress bought other waters but same bad taste.....I thought the food had some taste? Nothing to do with rating...As others stated we are low 60ish and youngest folks there.“
“I came here for lunch with a friend and it was delicious. The food was served fast. In the server was very friendly. I definitely want to come back for breakfast and dinner.Parking: Parking on the street or in the lot behind the restaurant.“
