Killer sushi bar...sometimes takes a minute to be served, but over-deliveres on portion and quality.

They messed up our take out order. We got home and noticed that the green curry with tofu we ordered had chicken in it instead. The lady that took the order entered the order correctly but the final product was not. We called back and she said she will have the manager or owner call back. Nobody called back so I called again and he was nice to give money back on the messed up item. He didn’t give a full refund though. He still charged back for the sushi we got.

Literally my favorite local Asian place. They always pay attention to table dietary restrictions and have never once made a mistake or made anyone sick. This place has the best sushi I've had in Indy! The other entrees and apps and soups they have are recommended. They also have bento for lunches.

Second time here and not as good as previous. Kung Pao beef was a little too gristly and the shrimp in the shrimp fried rice were over cooked, and were almost tough to bite through. Service was very slow and indifferent.

My family has been dining at Kobayashi for many, many years. It is our go to restaurant. Jet and Lisa treat us like family every time we go in! I think in the 15+ years we’ve been dining here we’ve nearly tried everything on the menu! Our server Cora, recently recommended some new rolls recently and we weren’t disappointed! She was so knowledgeable on the menu and recommended many items! We will continue to dine here every chance we get!

I visited Kobayashi with the expectation of a pleasant dining experience but was left quite disappointed, particularly with the service. While the food was acceptable, the service was far from satisfactory. From the onset, there were delays. After placing our order and receiving our appetizers, we realized that drink refills were needed. Unfortunately, despite several requests for these refills, they were not provided until the very end of our meal—an oversight that significantly impacted our dining experience.Additionally, there was an extraordinary delay in receiving our full order. Understanding that wait times can vary and that sometimes kitchens get backed up, patience was on our side. However, the situation was exacerbated when only half of our order arrived. Seeing the time that had already passed, I requested to cancel the remainder of the items we had not yet received. This is when the evening truly took a turn for the worse. Our server, Cora B, informed us brusquely that it was not possible to cancel the order, and she suggested we take the food home instead. Her demeanor was rude and unapologetic, which only added to our frustration.Finding resolution or understanding when dining out can often be accomplished with polite communication and customer service. Unfortunately, the lack of professionalism displayed by our server on this occasion was disheartening and, frankly, unacceptable. While the kitchen’s pace may not always be within the server’s control, the manner in which guests are treated certainly is. A simple acknowledgment of the situation and an apology could have gone a long way toward mitigating our dissatisfaction. Regrettably, this was not the case.Based on this experience alone, I'm hesitant to recommend Kobayashi, especially if you’re looking for a dining experience where service is a priority. The establishment might consider training staff more thoroughly in customer service skills to prevent such instances in the future.

Kobayashi Sushi & Asian Kitchen has become our go-to spot for Asian cuisine, and for good reason. The sushi here is top-notch, with each roll crafted to perfection and bursting with fresh flavors. Whether you're a sushi connoisseur or new to the scene, there's something for everyone on their menu. Their teriyaki chicken is a must-try. Tender and flavorful, it's the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The restaurant itself boasts a welcoming atmosphere, making it ideal for both casual dining and special occasions.Dietary restrictions: Several options here for dietary restrictionsParking: Plenty of parking and easy walking

Good sushi and good service but nothing too special. I'm only giving 4 stars because of the egg shells we found in out fried rice.Vegetarian options: I'm not a vegetarian, but it's mostly what I eat. I was disappointed that there was only one vegetarian sushi roll option.
