My mom raved about this restaurant. So I had to see what she was so excited about. It is under new management, I was told. We were greeted by a very upbeat happy server. She brought us warm homemade chips and salsa. My entree was excellent! I had the beef flauts dinner. My mom ordered her favorite the taco salad. I also ordered a burrito swiss and 2 tamales to go. Our server was very attentive. My husband, when I got home, loved his burrito swiss. The portions are large. I enjoyed the tamales as a snack later. I will say this is my favorite Mexican restaurant. 5 stars

Quesabirria does not come with birria broth as shown. I wouldn’t have even ordered this. False advertisement. Not enough salsa with chips & I think they mix store bought chips with fresh ones ?Otherwise, food is okay.

Although the new Santiago's lacks the same charm the old one had, the food was delicious and the service was excellent. I would love to see some of the original signature dishes make their way back on to the menu, like Mama's Specialty Soup, the prices are slightly higher than before, but not outrageous/offensive or too high. We will certainly be back but we will miss mama Manuela walking around checking on everyone.

My family and I love Santiago’s! My favorite dish is enchiladas poblanas with pork! I love the brown molé! Their flour chips melt in your mouth! We are so sad Santiago’s is closing! Nothing compares in my opinion!

Love this Mexican food. The family that runs this restaurant is wonderful, wish they didn’t have to close!

I ordered Carna Asada dinner and the steak came all fat, I ate a couple pieces but most of it was fat. I told the lady that it was all fat, she told me to cut it up and take out the fat like it was my job. She also told me I'll give you half off price if you buy another steak, why would I want to buy another steak full of fat. DO NOT RECOMMEND COMING HERE.

The food is GREAT! We dream about the chocolate mole sauce. We live about 5 hours away, but when we visit the IN dunes, we make sure to fit Santiago's in (at least once)!

Service was good. Their salsa is average and very mild. They have okay flour tortilla chips although most were chewy. That's where the good stops. The rest of the food is awful. Everything was watery and flavorless. Such a waste of money. We will not be returning. The restaurant itself needs a remodel. It has looked the same for past 20+ years.

We go there about once a month or so & have for the last 15 yrs. It's authentic home made Mexican cooking. No taco bell comparisons here to be found. Food comes out fairly quickly & hit. We order their mexican rice water Horchata drink since neither of us can have liquor, its a tasty treat when you drink it ice cold. I have ordered many different entrees over time and not been disappointed. I love vegetables so the chese stuffed poblano peppers are yummy instead of meat sometimes. Carne Asada is delish, the pork El Pastor Burritos are to die for too. The restaurant has been up for sale the last 2 yrs, so do yourself a favor & spend some time in a neat little decorated place with decent food at affordable prices.Kid-friendliness: Family dining is no problem here.Parking: Usually street parking can be tricky. Depends on the hour, there are a number of drinking establishments right in a row approaching Santiagos. In the warmer weather it can take a while to get a spot near the restaurant at times. Good thing though, they do offer outdoor dining at Santiagos too.

Food was awesome. Tastes awesome.Service was awesome.Price was awesome.Atmosphere was friendly but a little "too down to the earth" but it was good. Not a place for a fancy meal for a big occasion but great for a family meal. All in all, 5 out of 5!
