“Stood at the hostess station for awhile waiting. A customer came up and jokingly ask if they could seat. When the hostess came she was very nice and took my order. The cashier that checked me out ( I think her name was Lind, not sure) was not friendly at all.Parking: Plenty of packing“
“The service from Brittany on the patio was absolutely first class. We have extensive experience in Restaurant Operations and found her to be very knowledgeable and went out of her way to make our experience unforgettable. Her recommendations were on point and she genuinely took pride in work. We left reminded how rare first service. Brittany is a rock star and we highly recommend her as a server.“
“Wow oh Wow. There's a reason this place is held in such high regard. For starters, I typically don't like Japanese food but I would eat Enso's food off the floor. Yes it's that good. Food: there was not a single dish I did not enjoy. Everything I had was exploding with flavor and exceeded expectations. I was going to go into extreme detail about how much I enjoyed each and every dish but as of two weeks ago (mid March 2024) the menu was updated and a lot of the things I had are no longer available. The octopus hush puppies are still available and VERY delicious. The toppings really bring this dish over the top and make it something special. Although I am sad to see my favorite dish (creamy scallop udon) no longer on the menu, I am equally excited to have a reason to come back and try other things. Service: impeccable. My waiter was kind and helpful and well versed in the menu. If you have any questions about portions or menu be sure to ask because this group is amazing and will get you answers! Atmosphere: I came on a weeknight about 10 minutes after they opened and I was the only one there until closer to 5. The space is very simple but sleek. Price: This is where I advise to understand what you're getting into. This is not a fast casual spot and one shouldn't expect those prices. But the prices are not outrageous for the quality/quantity of food you get. It was around $100 for enough food for 2 people. Obviously this is where it can vary depending on what dishes you get, but trust me, you'll want to try a skewer or the octopus hush puppies. Overall: amazing food and I can't wait to bring my husband back for a date night.“
“The food is always delicious. They give generous amounts. The service could not be better. They're all super friendly and accommodating. It's a small but plentiful area for dining in. They also serve alcohol, including margaritas.“
“First of all if you are here for breakfast don't pass on the biscuit basket. Light, fluffy, crispy and buttery. Our classic breakfasts were perfect! Excellent gravy! The hashbrown casserole was delicious! What a fun place! It's an old firehouse. The stack of LP's in the corner were rotated through on the record player and kept us thinking of Marty Robbins. Staff were funny and attentive. Decently priced. Will definitely come back for lunch or dinner.“
“We stopped here for breakfast on our way back home... let me say, the 3.5 stars for the reviews do not do this place justice! I was a little skeptical to try the place, but was so glad we did! The hostess was absolutely a gem. Super friendly, energetic, and personable! There was about a 20 minute wait for a table. We decided to grab coffee from the coffee shop next door while we waited. Espresso was great! Food: We ordered a lot of food, lol. We wanted to try literally everything. The hot cinnamon roll was to die for. 4 of us split one as an "appetizer" - it was rich, so I'm glad we split it! All of our food was fresh, hot, and had good flavor. Their homemade jelly was outstanding, and so was their biscuits! Can't wait to go back the next time we visit Louisville!“
“Oh the tacos. These gems are but one reason to visit Merle's. (Try the green chilli btw and you can thank me later.). The beer selection is pretty meek, but the live entertainment really adds to the scene, unless you are right near the stage. Open windows make the atmosphere lively. A great place to go before a concert at Yum Center. Highly recommend.“
“I had always wanted to try Big Ben's and I'm glad I finally did. When I first walked in I was met with a warm welcome and a very down to earth bunch. You can totally tell this is a family run restaurant. The menu was simple enough to understand and not overflowing with too many options. We settled on the Bear's Bear option and it came with plenty to feed 4-5 of us. I loved reading the history that is all over the walls while we waited, which wasn't long, and learned a few things along the way. Now I am actually pretty picky when it comes to greens and eating them anywhere but at my family gatherings as I do not like any type of canned greens and usually thats what I'm presented with when I dare to order them from a restaurant. I chose to dare this day, however, because the gentleman behind the counter response when asked if they were fresh or canned was how I had almost given him a heart attack at the idea that they would even think to use canned and utter shock at the audacity to even need to ask. So I was sold and man was I not disappointed. These greens were some of the best I have ever had, almost better than my father's! They were cleaned properly, seasoned and cooked beautifully and the taste was the product of someone who knows what they are doing. I did not get any sand or mush just nice hearty leaf after leaf. I will definitely be back for more. We also had rib and rib tips which were both cooked properly and had a nice solid smoke mark present in every piece. They still were capable of staying on the bone yet we weren't playing tug a war trying to get a bite. We were given plenty of BBQ sauce on the side which meant we go as light or heavy as we wanted. The potato salad was Good and had that homemade type of look and taste to them that just took me back to those family gatherings I went to as a kid. I snapped a picture of my plate after I finished most of my greens because I never intended to write a review but I wanted to have proof that I actually ate and enjoyed greens from a restaurant cause my family knows I do not play around when it comes to the quality a thing of greens has to have to make it on and off my plate“
“I am writing this to share my experience due to my server. I believe her name was Lilian or Lilith. She was absolutely AMAZING. I actually stopped coming due to the service, but she absolutely has a repeat customer. She gave me hope in this place again.“
“The food was good (breakfast). My partner and I both had delicious omelets. I liked the breakfast potatoes. My sister and her husband enjoyed their food. We loved the waiter, Mark. He did his best, but the kitchen was very slow. Mark kept going back and checking to see whether our food was ready, but it took nearly an hour. The food was hot when it finally arrived, so we know Mark got it to us as soon as possible. Several other customers gave up and left when their food didn't arrive.“
“Placed our order, we both got chicken tortilla soup. The soup was not up to temperature. We took our soup back to counter and asked if we could get some hot soup. The young lady sent it back and asked the "gentleman" in the back for 2 more due to the temp not being warm enough. The "gentleman" in the back seemed like it was a hassle and said to the young lady behind the counter, "I JUST sent 2 through the window"The young lady said, well, they weren't hot. We obviously got 2 new cups of soup, which were just right. My complaint is simply this, you have 3 gentleman working in the back preparing food for the consumer and 1 "gentleman" complaining about doing his job, correctly!!! If the soups not hot, just do your job and replace the soup with hot soup. Nobody twisted your arm to get this job, you obviously wanted or needed a job, so do it right and or don't let the customers hear you react like an adolescent!!!“
“I was leaving from a friend's birthday celebration when I decided to stop in. I've passed by this corner for years, but I've never stopped in. My friend didn't have any food at his gathering, so I thought I would stop and check this place out.The lone woman came to the window and waited on me and one other woman (they seemed to know each other), she was polite, but I could tell she was tired. I order the "6-piece wings" special "with wedges and a roll" - and when there weren't wings ready, she was nice enough to substitute a thigh in there for me. I also got a 12 oz can of Diet Pepsi. The portion was good, and everything was hot and fresh. The wings were crispy and delicious, and though I'm not usually a fan of wedges, I enjoyed these potatoes. The only thing I take issue with was that the other workers who are employed by this business are apparently too lazy to show up to the job; that's why the one woman who was there (hat's off to you, sis! Keep up the good work!) appeared to be so tired. Perhaps the owner of this business will see the wisdom of replacing them with people who want to work! I don't live in the Louisville's West End, but I may pay another visit next time I'm in the area.“
“Me and My Sugar Plum ( Fiancé) went here for Valentines day! And lets just say the overall experience was a great one! Better than I expected it . Our waitress was excellent handled us with care while being pregnant! Kudos Mom. I would've gave them 5 stars but the only part of our meal that let us down was the cabbage. Dam near tasted like sauerkraut. The sweet potato casserole OMG!!!! woke up eating what I had left...SOOOO gooood!. We also had salmon bites fresh and good . lemon pepper chicken was skinnty . The fried ribs was bae favorite. Casserole was mines . The setting and vibe for Valentines was on point. We knew to make our reservations early.Parking: depends on day of the week“
“Clean dining area. Staff is quick and kind. The bathroom fan needs to be fixed. I've been going here for 2 years and it is still busted. I'm sure it would take a handyman maybe an hour to replace. This has to be a top 5 place to eat fried chicken. Their seasoning and frying is applied with great balance. The chicken is always cooked to perfection. I mean I have never had a bad piece of chicken here in any form factor I have requested. The sauce selection has something for everyone. The price me thinks is very fair for both the quantity and quality. Their phone app has great deals. They offer a boys in blue and military discount. The Food comes out hot and fresh very quickly. They are very consistent with quality and service. The Fire-In Da-Hole flavor I gave a try. I was expecting an unbearable mouth burn experience akin to the buffalo wild wing blazen sauce. However, I was pleasantly surprised after signing the waiver that the sauce was actually very good. I highly recommend it if you like spicy food. They do a Veterans Day free meal here. Go out and support this spot. They are awesome.Vegetarian options: They have dessert that does not contain meat products.Dietary restrictions: If you don't eat chicken. Do not come here.Parking: This location is in a shopping plaza with plenty of parking.Kid-friendliness: The Dine in area is very family friendly. Perfect finger foods for the tots.Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs. All ramps. Double door entrance.“
“Outstanding food, cocktails, and service at this Southern gem! Found ourselves in Louisville due to travel changes and we are grateful we found this incredible spot! Darius gave us outstanding service and all of his food recommendations were perfect. Everything we ordered was delicious but do yourself a favor and order a side of green beans….You won’t be disappointed. The jalapeño margaritas were amazing. Catfish, fried okra…The list goes on! Thank you!❤️“
“This place was wonderful as always. The staff is always very friendly and knowledgeable. They had a special today "Chicken Parmesan" and it was delicious. They always serve decently sized portions (honestly most of them could be considered sharable), you really get great value for your money. Big shout-out to Autumn F. Tonight for taking care of us. Would recommend to anyone local or visiting 10/10 times“
