You are getting what you come for at the Backer. I lived right across the street in undergrad, and I would go at least every other week. A definition dive bar- but during parent weekends, game weekends, and graduation- the place is packed to the nines. The tradition of the place is unbeatable. Lick the pole - but only after a few rounds.

Great staff... from bartenders, barbacks, cooks and security. Great atmosphere and regulars are beyond the best. Just a great place to grab a drink and relax.Wheelchair accessibility: Everything is flat. Tons of outdoor seating as well.

Try their fish which was excellent. Truly enjoyed your experience of being in the bar with friends. Kim was the bartender and service which was excellent. The legend lives

Kicked us out for "drinking too much" after one beer.

There’s no place like the linebacker that will remind you of racism by kicking you out (conveniently just after you order your drinks and leave a hefty tip). They go by “don’t hate the game, hate the player” I guess

Came for a night out and someone in our group was aggressively kicked out for "drinking too much" after a single beer. We were sober. Even the bartender was confused. After questioning the situation, security got physical with us and told us "we can also f***ing leave". Extremely unprofessional and unwelcoming.

Used to be the place to go on game day. NOW they charge TEN BUCKS A HEAD to walk in the door. If you're lucky enough to get a chair, they DEMAND it back even while you're sitting in it. I hope that the new owners are making a ship-ton of money. They SURE AS HELL aren't improving the joint, either in physical improvements OR customer service. It's NO small wonder why the "locals" are avoiding this formally GREAT place like the plague. Nice job, new owners, you greedy jerks. They should read the story about the Goose and the Golden Egg. Killed the goose to get one golden egg.Parking: Good luck.

Will kick you out for no reason and then threaten you when you try to explain what really was happening. Can hardly get a drink and don't even think about food. Trash place to have fun, fun place to invite someone you don't like. Just tell security you don't like someone and they'll drag them out like they commited a murder (:

A raucous place to get a drink on GameDay. It's a bit out of the way with not a long going on around it but it's pretty packed on GameDay. It was super easy to get a quick drink even with it being so busy.
