Great upmarket burger spot near Notre Dame. We ate here twice during our visit to campus. Good food and easy to access. It's on Eddy Street just a few doors down from the Hammes Notre Dame Bookstore. There is a parking garage nearby with free two-hour parking. Burgers are all great, though if you don't want to rare a hamburger, ask for it medium well. I personally enjoyed the Burger Snack ... it's a smaller burger and just the right amount for lunch.

Food was so delicious! Salmon burger was so so good! Great menu with a variety to choose from. Server was kind and friendly

My date and I were both disappointed with our meals. For the price paid, the burgers are pretty small. The meat was of mediocre quality. What you are seemingly paying for here are the special toppings. The fries were also limp and greasy. Other than taking our order and giving us our bill at the end, our waitress was completely inattentive. My rating above is just based on the food and not the service though, because she doesn't necessarily represent every member of the staff. Overall, Bru Burger's rating seems representative of a typical bar that serves mediocre food - once people get a few drinks in them, everything tastes good. There is a Five Guys restaurant literally across the street, and after our meal was finished my date and I both wished we had gone there instead.

Started dining on Sunday nights with friends. Friendly hostesses and servers, servers very attentive and helpful. Burgers are great! Especially love the Burger Snack which is a regular sized burger with yummy sauce and whatever else you want. Fries and onions rings great too. Love the wine and beer offerings. Can’t say anything negative. Fun to people watch while sitting in bar area. Also love the fact we can make reservations online with free parking. It’s going to be our regular go-to place on Sunday’s.

BRU Burger Bar in South Bend, Indiana. We decided to order Bru Burger for lunch today, and ordered through DoorDash. I ordered a Valencia Salad with salmon, no goat cheese, no onion. When it came, it had onion and blobs of goat cheese all over it (This happened on June 16 too, but I thought it was a fluke and the lady apologized. I didn't think it would happen again). I'm a VIP card member and am close to the $1000 mark in my rewards. I called Bru Burger and spoke to the guy manager. I told him I was upset because this is the second time it's happened. He immediately blamed the DoorDasher. He said the DoorDasher is supposed to check the order for accuracy. So, is the DoorDasher supposed to open boxes to see if it's made right? Is he also supposed to lift a burger bun to see if it's got the right condiments? No. He said they'd had three orders for the Valencia Salad and maybe the DoorDasher picked up the wrong one. I said, "So, the DoorDasher takes the food out of the window and places it in the bag?" He said no. I said, "Then it's not his fault." He said they have a contract with DoorDash to check accuracy. I said that I had a contract with them to make my food right. He said, "If you aren't getting your order right then maybe you shouldn't order from us again." ???? I said, "Wait a minute! You push responsibility off on DoorDash, and now, since you can't read instructions and make my order right, I shouldn't order from you? Now it's my fault for ordering from Bru Burger??" I said, "I'm madder than I was when I started this call, which means you dropped the ball as a manager. I'm post-on-Facebook mad, or Google-review mad now. I asked him if Christine, the other manager, was there and told him I'd be letting her know. He hung up on me. What kind of manager blames DoorDash for their mistakes, then tells the customer if they aren't getting the order right they should go elsewhere?? Also, I think their ranch had curdled.

We had a large group and they sat us right away. Food was good and servers were nice. Biggest issue was that 24 of us got just one check and they refused to separate it. Would’ve been so much better to just separate us into smaller groups to bill us (we were multiple families.)

Visited twice, first time in a big group so it was slow. This time service was awesome...thanks Katherine. Came to the table with water and quickly took care of me. Food came out fast and price is good for what you get.

We actually did not eat here. We brought a large group. We did call ahead , they disclosed they would not hold tables. We said fine. We came and there was plenty of space. We all were very unwelcome and treated super rude by the hostess. Really awful. I get we were a large group but open tables and treating a large $1000 plus in income sounds like bad business. If this was my restaurant I would fire the woman at the hostess counter. She seemed to be a manager so it makes it even worse. Super disappointing

My partner and I had lunch at BRU after walking campus and taking pictures on a Sunday morning. We had the Chili Cheese Fries as an appetizer, which were excellent. I believe I had the burger called "The Beginning" minus onions. It was good. She had a regular burger with just pickle and lettuce. Also good. The burger itself was not seasoned much, but it was good. My medium well was cooked perfect. Her well done was a little more charred than she would have liked. Service was really good with drink refills timed well. Cost was a little high , but the appetizer was a big part of that. We would go back just for the fries.

My husband and I stopped in for lunch after my son's track meet on the Notre Dame campus. We were greeted by the friendly hostess and seated immediately at a table by the window. Very lively (but not overly loud) atmosphere, with a lot of college students. Large screen tvs were playing NCAA basketball games. Decor is cute and the place is clean. My husband ordered a burger with bacon and I ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. We both ordered the fries. WAY off the eating plan for this one, but worth it. We both enjoyed our meals and I have to mention: I'm not typically a ketchup person but after our fabulous server Thomas pointed out that it was homemade, I had to try it. Delicious and very impressive that a burger place makes their own ketchup. Even the iced tea was good. We loved this place and will definitely come back the next time we are on campus.

On the busiest weekend of the year (home football) this place stopped serving the house for nearly an hour. They needed to divert production to large team take-out (soccer and hockey). Servers are standing around with nothing to do (no food coming out). We waited 50 minutes for a table and put our food order in 40 minutes ago. The server just came out to tell us that they don’t know when food will start coming to the dining room again. How stupid can the manager be to take the entire kitchen production away from the house for an hour.

This restaurant is a great spot if you are looking for a good variety of burgers. If you are not a burger lover, like myself, then you can switch out the meat with other options. I had the Bourbon Grilled Chicken Sandwich. For the price it wasn’t the best but it still hit the spot. The drinks were flavorful and the Botanist Lemonade I ordered was perfect for a 90 degree day. Be prepared to pay a bit more for this restaurant as it is close to campus and the atmosphere is a bit higher end. The service here is great and our waitress gave us plenty of recommendations to see while we were in the area. Overall if you are in the area I would give Bru Burger a try but just know there are much better options in the area.

Jeremy was our server and he was very attentive and friendly. Good, happy atmosphere. Started with an order of chili cheese fries. They were devoured by us in minutes. I had a bbq burger that was a delicious mess. Good time, would return.

My husband and I decided to try this place out on a Sunday for lunch. We sat at the bar. My husband ordered the Honey Chipotle BBQ burger and I ordered the Bourbon burger. The burgers were cooked to absolute perfection! The bartender, Cody, was great. It’s a little pricy with the sides being extra, but it is good quality food.
