Located on Beautiful Lake Wawasee in Syracuse, Indiana with accessibility by boat in season, plenty of car parking near entrance to The Oakwood. Great place to take visitors in season with plenty of seating outside, well behaved dogs are welcomed The Menu changes seasonally and offers variety of proteins with sides, salads and appetizers are delicious and plentiful for additional $.

I wasn't very hungry but we decided to have a late lunch at the restaurant in the Oakwood resort. View was beautiful, food was pretty good, and the service was fair. We spoke with a Syracuse local and she said the Pier and Back Porch was the go to restaurant on the lake. The prices were cheaper than I expected for a private club feeling. I enjoyed the huge salmon burger with fries. The chicken quesidilla was also quite tasty. The warm fall weather made walking along the lake after lunch very enjoyable and the hotel staff was very friendly and made us want to actually stay there. I'd love to eat some fish on the outdoor patio during the summer for that waterside experience. Super good vibes all around this place. Worth the trip for sure.

Came here for date night on a Friday night in November. The place was about 1/4 full but that is expected at a hotel restaurant. The food was superb and the server went out of her way to make our experience great. Food was on par!

Nice place. Good food so so service. And the real disappointment is we had 6 adults and 3 children and without ANY warning I was charged 20% for a so called “large party” I am normally a generous tipper 20-25%. But I do not like essentially being told I have to tip 20%. A tip is just that “thank you for serving us here’s a little something for you” If I was told prior, no problem I would have said “ok, I understand “ I will not go back just for that reason. It’s my way of sending a little message to the restaurant. You just lost a potential repeat customer. An added side note. $4 for a Dixie cup size side of Cole slaw is RIDICULOUS

Love the outdoor ambiance, and the access by car or boat. The salmon burgers are outstanding. They have vegan options as well.Parking: Parking is generally available, but sometimes farther out, especially during events.Piers available for boats.

I love oakwood i have been going there for a while and today i won’t to get starbucks and i ordered what i normally get and i come there like everyday and then i got my drink and i said without lemonade but they accidentally put lemonade in it and that’s ok but i said i ordered it without lemonade and she said no you didn’t in a rude way she was like no you ordered it with lemonade and i was like ok it’s ok and she gave me the nasty look.

Wonderful food! Great service. We had j*** chicken fajitas and blackened shrimp tacos with sweet potatoe fried. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. I had the drink beach something it was really good. Highly recommend this restraunt. Excellent food and atmosphere.

Food was amazing! We got the caesar salad, simple chicken sandwich, flatbread and creme brulee for dessert. Wonder atmosphere, loved sitting outside on the water.
The servers are locals, that truly know how to interact with someone dining in, or having a drink. I worked at Oakwood earlier in my life, and this was a serious upgrade on their part!Dietary restrictions: I believe their are vegetarian options, and I am sure there is gluten free food, and definitely drinksParking: Short walk to and from The Back Porch on safe roads.
