I've been dying to try this place and the Birria tacos. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The service was okay although I watched our waiter go in and out of the bathroom on his phone. The atmosphere was good and the restaurant was clean. The salsa was very good and flavorful. BUT... our food was a different story. Very bland and flavorless we didn't even eat it just paid our bill, left, and went to taco bell. I had the birria tacos and my husband had their crazy pineapple. My birria tacos didn't have cheese and tasted like nothing at all, same as the dipping sauce. Rice barely had flavor and beans were not good. My husband's pineapple dish didn't have any pineapple, flavor of pineapple, or any flavor really at all. It was just served in the pineapple. VERY disappointing.

I have eaten there numerous times and the food is always good, the flavor is on point. The service is good. The Horchata keeps me going back. I got the loaded nachos they are filling and today I tried the AL Pastor taco it was really good. I try a different one each time and so far they are all good and the sauce today with the taco was yummy.

I just hung up the phone with them after they had sent my husband out the door with the wrong order approximately a week and a half two weeks ago before we went on vacation. When he got home realized that was not what he had ordered I immediately called and spoke to a young lady who was very respectful and said she would put my name down for credit when we returnedPaid $17 for a meal we did not get instead we've received nachos!!! The gentleman who answered the phone just now said it was too late for our credit! Will never return! Shame on them!

I can't thank the people at Lucia's enough. I had emailed them earlier in the week to check on animal ingredients in the rice and beans. I received prompt replies and found out both were free of animal ingredients. It's common for restaurants to use lard in refried beans and chicken (broth) in rice. I also asked if they'd be willing to cook vegetables in a clean pan or something which they said they could, but be sure to ask at the restaurant.So we stopped by Lucia's #1 while in town for some Christmas shopping. Looking at the menu I was worried about eating there with all the "meat" options. I explained everything to our server and she was very nice and understanding. I appreciate the extra work the kitchen staff did to prepare our food how we requested.My wife had a vegetarian salad and I basically did too. I got flour shells with mine and ate it as a fajita. The chips and salsa were really good. Guacamole was also tasty. We both enjoyed our meals. We both ate way too much but it was too delicious to stop. I might try a burrito on our next visit.So if you're a vegetarian or vegan and the menu options are intimidating, no need to worry. Lucia's staff are willing to accommodate and stuff like rice and beans are already safe for vegans. It is tricky finding a vegan friendly restaurant in Terre Haute. Thank you Lucia's!

Lucia's is awesome! In my opinion, they have some of the fastest food times around (which is impressive because many of our local Mexican food offerings are quick). I've ordered in-person and online to-go and they have consistently surprised me with how quick my wait time has been. Most importantly, they have awesome food (they have pastor in Terre Haute!) and their pricing is excellent. Friendly/helpful staff and a comfortable atmosphere round out a great dining experience. I highly recommend giving this hidden gem a try, and I've been telling all my foodie friends who know what's up to check them out.
