My dinner was incredible as was the wine I choose. Whether you live next door or 25 miles away, you won’t be disappointed.

Made our first visit to Scarpe on our anniversary and it did not disappoint. Authentic Italian cuisine. The food and wine are amazing and the service is wonderful (thanks Maureen ;). The shareable sides are great and the Truffle Patate Fritte is not to be missed!

Delicious dinner and perfect service. From the wine and scrumptious meatball appetizer, to the pork chop and branzino entrees……we were not disappointed in our meal selections. Of course, we had to try 2 desserts…..the tiramisu and the plum tart…..again, awesome and delicious choices. Well done, Scarpe….We will be back.

Fantastic! Wonderful service, incredible food, and they cater to vegans as well! Can't say enough about this fantastic small business! Worked with the chef directly to create a special menu for my husband's birthday. Not only was she friendly and helpful in helping me plan the menu directly, but she was excited to do so! Definitely try this gem of a restaurant!

Best restaurant in Valpo. We recently moved to Valpo from the city and have been trying all the local restaurants. Scarpe has exceeded our expectations with their menu selections, food preparation and quality, and friendly attentive service. There is plenty of variety on the menu for foodies with a number of delightful and creative vegetarian options that would please anyone (thank you). Their flavors are perfectly seasoned, well balanced, and fresh.As much as we would love to continue to be able to walk in and get a table on a Saturday night without a wait, these operators deserve to have a full house every day. Run, don’t walk to Scarpe!

Started with meat and cheese boards and arancini. The boards were on par for the area. I would have liked a yellow cheese instead of two whites. The spreads made the boards; loved the grainy mustard and the sundried tomato jam!!! Arancini were crisp and the chili-honey dipping sauce, two very enthusiastic thumbs up. Dinner was carrot risotto and tagliatelle al pomodoro with polpettes. (Ribbon noodles and meatballs.) Surprised by the flavors in the carrot risotto, savory and a little sweet, it was delicious. Pasta cooked al-dente and meatballs were full of flavor. I think one more meatball would have been better to even out the pasta/meat ratio. I had like five meatballless bites at the end. Overall, a fantastic meal. The server, I am horrible with names, was super friendly and knowledgeable with the menu. Handled my allergy like a pro.

Came with a large group last week. I had never been prior but everyone raved about how this is one of the best places in Valpo. The appetizers and salads were amazing. Everyone loved theirs. The main courses were hit or miss. A few of us asked for recommendations and we were all pointed toward the linguine scampi. It sounded amazing and I was looking forward to it. I think 4 of us out of maybe 9 people total ordered the linguine scampi. It had no flavor. I don't know if something was missing or what happened, but it was not good at all. It tasted like the noodles were sitting in water, not butter. And the shrimp was also tasteless. We all asked for salt and cheese to try to make it better. I took mine home and added garlic and Alfredo to it to make it edible. Very disappointing since it was not a cheap meal at all. I'd come back and try again, but would not ever order the linguine scampi. It was just bad. The staff was nice and we were well taken care of. I did notice one staff member who had his mask down around his chin, barely covering his mouth, nose exposed the entire time. I'm not sure if he was a manager or what, but he didn't have on the black shirt that the waiters were wearing, so someone else on the staff. A mask is pointless if it's not covering both the mouth and nose.

Really outstanding dining experience. One of the best restaurants in downtown Valpo! The ambiance is perfect, the food quality is amazing, and the selection of wines is really robust. I felt very comfortable being seated inside - all of the staff was wearing masks properly, and the tables were spaced out. The restaurant is very clean, decor is delightful, music is soft and pleasant and the atmosphere is very enjoyable. I'm also really impressed that the restaurant is run by two young entrepreneurs - they're very knowledgeable and make us feel appreciated every time we dine with them. Absolutely love everything I've ever tried (apps, entrees, dessert and drinks!) and cannot wait to go back!
