I've loved Rainbow ? cone since I was a child in Chicago! It's (hopefully) located in Blue Island, IL. (South side of the city on Western). I've waited over 35 yrs. to taste the rainbow ? again! Perfection!

Sat at the counter for 8 minutes before giving up and walking out due to no service... atleast put a bell out or something... I'm not going to scream at the counter to give you my money.. menu looked pretty lackluster as it is so that pretty much sealed the deal that I won't even bother trying this ice cream shop...

Ordered pistachio ice-cream, it had chunks of ALMONDS in it. No where on the menu did is say that was the case. I can eat pistachios, but am mildly allergic to almonds. Very disappointed. Will not return. Very expensive. The staff is nice, but there is very limited seating. Having it connected to the beef place is a bit odd.

I've been going to the original on Halsted for years. I'm so excited to have one much closer to home. This is attached to Buona beef. The ice cream combination sounds so weird but it's delicious!!! The lady helping us was very friendly with a bright smile. The parlor looks great with cute wall art and the windows let in a lot of bright light so everything looks fresh. I got a kids cone and the presentation is NOT as cool as the regular cone. So no kids cone again! I just want the crazy tower in all of its glory.

I'm so glad Rainbow Cone is here in Valpo. This location is attached to Buona Beef. You can grab a beef with hot peppers then cool down with a waffle cone. The staff is friendly and there are rewards you can sign up for. The decor is bright and makes you want to linger inside or on the patio. My kid's favorite place this summer.
