The better world market is a fun Asian grocery store with all kinds of things that you wouldn't see in any other normal American grocery store. In addition to being a multicultural experience, the better world market has a wide variety of all things needed for Chinese cuisine, hot pot, tea, vegetables, drinks, seafood, and more. Whenever I am in the area I love stopping by to pick up a few things.

The oil I bought was expired, the cookies were expired, even canned meat, which can last for years, was nearly expired. Don't go there, if you want to be healthy. What's more, the price of this supermarket is generally high.

So I have been to several in the Chicago area and I feel this one in Lafayette is one clean, well stocked and fun to view and buy. The workers are nice, friendly and courteous. I love visiting my daughter at Purdue and coming here. I bring a cooler so I can bring some stuff to our home in Chicago. I highly recommend browsing, asking and just buying something different and cooking with it.

I am so glad this market exists. It's not huge but is full of the good stuff. I am able to buy some Asian staples for cooking Asian/Filipino food that I cannot find elsewhere. And there's also enough variety that I find there's always something new I want to buy too. Yes, I do find it is a little pricey sometimes but I think that's just how it is with smaller specialty grocers. And, honestly, to me it's worth it. I grew up in an area with lots of Asian bakeries so I often find that I crave stuff from Asian bakeries. I am very grateful that they bring in pastries from Chicago. They're not exactly my favorite and the bread can be a little stale but...when there aren't a lot of options, you get what you get! I'm only giving four stars because sometimes there is produce in the bins that quite simply should be thrown out. Also there is a distinct smell by the meat counter/produce area that is...not good. I'm not talking like "oh this food stinks" but like a cleanliness problem.

So many cool items. I was pumped to find three different flavors of tapioca pearls for when I make bubble tea at home and am excited to try some new tea flavors that I picked up in store. I'll definitely be back after some more research.

In my opinion, the best Asian market in the area. If you can't find it here, it might just not exist. I'm glad they listened to customer demand and are now stocking several more flavors of Japanese Kit Kat bars. I wanted to make some Jjapaguri, but they were out of Chapagetti! But then again so was everyone. I had to order it online. I like their cool selection of porcelain chopstick holders- I have bought several. Have heard good things about the restaurant in back but have been too timid to try it. Maybe someday!

Horrible smelling place, with the largest selection of Asian food & groceries in the county.Admittedly, such a distinction has a low bar for achievement, but I digress.Fantastic selection of meat and fish, and it's really clean, in spite of the horrifyingly bad odor thay about knocks you out as soon you enter.But totally worth it to plug your nose and check this place out!

Better than the Korean market. But, still overpriced. I hate it when we come to small cities like this, and you find an asian market.... and they jack up the price. Ugh!!! So annoying.
