Nice, homey restaurant with delicious food, children's options, very limited vegetarian options, but I had a grilled cheese and cheesy potatoes. Service was attentive.

Bobby Ds needs better management. Called an order for ribs and fries and was told it be 15 min. We all know ribs are pomade for the day and we'll all they had to do was do the fries. Got there 17 min later and was expecting to pay and go but no. There were only 3 other tables there so they weren't busy. But I had to wait another 20 min. As I sat there I watched the staff talking to each other walking back and forth on their phones telling jokes and play more on their phones. So 20 min later i got my stale fries and ribs. Ribs are great. Fries were old and disgusting the young staff needs better management.

It was busy for dine in. One cook. Slow service. Enjoyed the food. Two out of three people thought the food was really good.Dietary restrictions: Told we couldn't have wheat and a slice of bread was on top of the meat. They do not understand gluten-free.Parking: Found one spot down the street from the diner.
The night that we ate at Bobby D’s it was very busy and understaffed. But the servers were upbeat, professional, and very accommodating. Especially impressed with Mandy who in the middle of running around keeping things clean and organized. She also checked with the cooking staff to make sure that they had water and everything they needed, we witnessed all of this as we were sitting close to the kitchen window.

Ate at a little BBQ place in Emporia on the way home called BobbyD's Merchant St BBQ. Was delicious! My ribs were flavorful and tender. My boyfriend got the lunch special which was a French dip sandwich which I tried and I've never had one where the beef was so tender. All great portions for an affordable price. Looking forward to going again.
I was planning to go across the street and eat at another place, but something pulled me in here instead. Great food, great service, great time.

I absolutely love this place. The food is wonderful and reasonably priced for the amount you get. I recommend the BBQ Nachos for an appetizer. The staff were super polite and even though it was busy, they were on top of things. The only thing I could complain about was how small it was, I felt bad sitting at a 6-top with two people. It wasn’t even that small, just a popular place! They even had the KU game playing which was great for my boyfriend because he goes there.

It's not a bad place for a little city like Emporia. You want something different drive to the big cities!
